I immediately fell in love with this dress and I had to have it! However, I must say that it is IMPOSSIBLE to drive in. Unless you have someone else driving you around, I suggest you do something else to it... which is exactly what I did. The last picture demonstrates what the unaltered dress looks like. The sleeves are pretty long and I have this constant fear that if I sit down without scrunching the dress up, it will RIP. So to make driving and maneuvering around easier, I decided to use the two sleeves to form a bow that sits at the waist. Creative, huh? Until next time!
A Dolce and Gabbana inspired look from the 2009 Cruise Collection; I remember imitating a lot of the looks from this collection during my senior year in high school! I am a huge fan of bows and I have loved the color pink ever since I was a child.
Anyways, splurging on brand name clothing isn't always ideal so I opt for imagination and D.I.Y. projects! You can always find my mom and I working on something whether it be clothes or home goods! It's actually really fun coming up with inspired looks and making the cheap look chic! I will definitely do more inspired looks in the future :D
And now, I will present the newest addition to my collection of bags... well, actually my mom's collection. I'm just "borrowing" it (: It's a Lady Dior!
For my first two years as an undergraduate, I would constantly dress up to school and events. My third year marked the downfall of this and come senior year I found myself looking for more comfortable clothes that I could toss on with some accessories and military boots or flats. This ensemble resembles something I would wear to school minus the heels of course... I find myself unable to walk around school with heels anymore possibly because there are so many hills! It may sound a bit clichè however I love making the cheap look chic. Mixing and matching articles of clothing valued at various price ranges makes dressing up more fun for me.
BUSINESS MEETINGS. As a wise man once said:
"Some succeed because they were destined to. Most succeed because they are determined to."
Most of us belong to the latter and must earn out position in society. Earning my Bachelor's was just the beginning of my educational pursuit and nothing will stand in the way of me and my goals. I plan on doing more both academically and in life as an entrepreneur.
SLIGHT HEAT WAVE. Even though it is the middle of December, California is experiencing a slight increase in temperature! I know that Christmas is in ten days however, this year just seems different - not just due to the weather. I'm not getting the same holiday feel as I did in previous years... Maybe it's because I have quarantined myself in my room... just kidding! However, I have been dedicating the majority of my time to books as opposed to human interaction. Studying can drain a tremendous amount of energy so I try to incorporate things I enjoy such as outfit shoots, yoga, EATING, music and writing. Although I might not be sensing the same holiday thrill as others, my home does possess a warm and cozy Christmas atmosphere (maybe I should share pictures)! As for this outfit, I chose to pair this simple Zara dress with a gold necklace containing a hint of cerulean. I decided not to clash this dress with yellow or orange heels, as I usually would, since Autumn days call for booties!
I finished all my midterms last week and took my first final yesterday! I honestly cannot believe how fast this quarter is going - looking back at my workload and weekly schedule, I have no idea how I managed everything. Comparing my situation as a pharmacy student compared to my undergraduate years is a bit disheartening. When I was an undergrad, I thought I spent too way too many nights staying up (midnight seemed too late for me). As of now, I no longer have a regular sleeping schedule (insert sad teardrop emoji). I crave naps and sometimes I have to stay up until the wee hours of the night, I'm talking about 3 to 4AM, to finish all of my work. Just three years left of actual memorizing, studying and writing! Anyways, I know a lot of you pharmacy applicants are now going to interviews and I've had a lot of feedback from my posts. Starting next year, I will initiate a virtual pharmacy school mentor-mentee program to aid applicants! I'll have a signup and we can have sessions as time permits!
Now on to this post...I wore this over the summer in Orange County - as you can tell I am WAY behind on posts. I got this sheer overlay TOPSHOP pencil skirt at Nordstrom and I'm just waiting to wear this on rotations (which will, unfortunately, be the summer of 2018 since I'll be doing research this coming summer)! I love dressing up but its quite hard at UCSD - check out my Instagram posts to see what I wear on a daily basis. The parking situation here is B E Y O N D terrible and I have to park at Revelle and scramble across the street to get onto campus (High five to those who know what I'm taking about, #TheStruggleIsReal). The highest heel height I can manage without tumbling down hills is 2 inches! I wanted to avoid wearing these heeled flats to school since the road is uneven but I gave into temptation. I wore these yesterday and they're still in great condition. I will try to post more often - I have some exciting collaborations to share with you guys in the future! Until next time!
ON THE RUN in an attempt to make it to work promptly. My tendency to arrive "fashionably-late" to practically everything developed during my freshman year in high school. Although I am altering certain things to make myself punctual, choosing my attire drains a significant amount of time. I can clearly recall the time when I was able to sit down, enjoy my breakfast and watch the morning news. But then again, I did not wear any makeup or care about the appearance of my hair. Time to be professional and punctual.
SUBCONSCIOUS BELIEF that I should begin telling my story through text and photographs on my blog. I was once accustomed to documenting every miniscule detail of my life in countless journals until I began college. Though I had many reasons that led to the termination of jotting my daily thoughts onto paper, I suddenly feel the urge to write again...When I began pursuing undergraduate courses, I lost sight of myself. I entered believing that I had to omit certain passions to do well, to push aside previous hobbies to make room for medically related activities, to commit every single day to the "art" of studying and burying myself in textbooks. But I was wrong. Enjoying yourself and your time is a crucial component toward succeeding in life. Before I even had the notion of what personal style or fashion blogging was, I was genuinely engrossed by the craft of photography. My amateur photographs rendered me some devoted fans on my deviantart account and I looked forward to each day since it was an occasion for me to experiment. However, my affection for photography seemed to vanish within the summer.
I will be reigniting my previous passions this coming year. Why? I need to enjoy life to not lose focus on my goals. Although I will devote a tremendous amount of time toward my studies, I also need to do things I enjoy. Expect more rambles such as this and be on the lookout for my photography in posts to come.

ROMAN NUMERALS on the tungsten ring I recieved c/o of Modern Design. The packaging I recieved for this ring reminded me of Matryoshka dolls, also known as Russian dolls, since it was placed in numerous envelopes and boxes (I posted a picture on my twitter!). Although the tungsten rings featured on their site seem as if they are only fit for males, I believe these rings can also be worn by women. The simplicity of the design demands attention while screaming out power and confidence. The ring itself, is extremely comfortable, lightweight, and durable - I already dropped it numerous times and it has yet to show any visible scratches! I would definitely recommend this ring, or rather this company, Modern Design, to anyone looking for masculine rings or androgynous jewelry to spruce up their personal style. Anyways, I have one more class before finals and then I will be officially DONE with my undergraduate career! Finally, a real summer break...
MODERN ROMANTIC. Do you guys ever ponder about what life and culture would be like if you lived in another era? Well for some odd reason, creme colored clothing reminds me Paris in the 1950's or the Shakespearean era of Romeo and Juliet. I recently received this meticulous blouse from OASAP which you can puchase HERE! Though it took over a month to arrive, it was definitely worth the excruciating wait! Everything about this chiffon blouse from the crystallized buttons, to the beaded flowers on the collar, to the 3D flowers screams elegance and sophistication. If you are not already aware, I am a extremely attracted to lady like attire. And who says you have to spend an enormous amount of money to look good? It's like the good ole saying:
"YOU CAN BUY FASHION BUT YOU CAN'T BUY STYLE."
It's April Fools! I have yet to see any amazing jokes but do you guys know of any cool pranks? I received this "one- size" fits all dress in the mail a few days ago. I was obviously skeptical about the fit and how it would look like on me. When I tried this dress on for the first time, it was bigger than I expected. I know it isn't a body conscious dress however, it shouldn't be this loose! So instead of complaining, I found different ways to wear this dress. (Whenever I go shopping, I always make sure that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE whatever I am purchasing and/or it is extremely versatile). With that said, it wasn't hard coming up with new ways to wear this draped dress. As you can see, I chose to add a thin gold belt to this dress. I believe it adds more definition and it makes it look more interesting - it was a tad bit plain before I included the belt even though the right shoulder contains some beads ( my hair is covering the details, whoops! ). This works well for a casual party or get-together but if you're looking for something that fits into your daily wardrobe, then I would suggest wearing this dress with pants! That's right! The dress comes fully lined so I tucked that in and rolled up the dress. I then added the belt, yet again, and paired it with linen pants from Forever 21. Hope you guys like this post!
Spring time blues in California this week! The weather is making quite an interesting detour and it seems as if some scattered showers will be resonating well into next week. I suppose this may be a good time to get some "Spring Cleaning" in. But for those who are experiencing better weather or plan on going elsewhere, do you guys have any Spring Break traditions? Traveling to Cancun or Tijuana or possibly an exotic island such as the Maldives, Bali or Fiji? Whatever your plans may be, I hope you enjoy this new season.
A quick post featuring this very versatile Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Crossbody - courtesy of Snapette. Winter is reaching its denouement and the sun seems to rise earlier each day... making it that much more difficult to find a place to take outfit shots. For those of you who are feeling the heat, I hope you are finding ways to keep cool! Anyone want to hit the beach? (:
There has been some stagnant rain here and there but the sun is able to quickly find it's way out behind the clouds. The sound of rain drops trickling on the roof or tapping against the window evokes a whirlwind of thoughts. Reminiscing of past times and conjuring up scenarios for the future ends up consuming me. As the grey clouds are dominated by dark ink skies and the wind begins to increase in velocity, the desire to walk on the sand next to the ocean reaches a climax. The need to be in solitude to ponder about life surpasses the need for any other interaction. But, enough with my rambles. Here is an outfit I wore when the sun was hours upon arrival. These gloves have been in my possession for about two years now and I wanted to incorporate them into my attire. I believe they add a sense of sophistication and allure as Audrey Hepburn; even though they aren't arm length. To accessorize, I chose to add faux fur cuffs on top of my boots.
My style has been very casual and laid back for the past two years. I used to love dressing up even if I had no where to go but then again I hated wasting a good outfit on an uneventful day. I would draw inspiration from just about anything - art, buildings, music and other people. I enjoyed coming up with different outfits and trying to work them at different events but it seems as if that part of me faded away. Not just in style but in other areas of life as well. I have decided that it's time regain what I lost.
Motivation. Determination. Drive. Passion.
This my metamorphosis post. No more excuses. No more slacking. No more hesitation. It's time to take control and hold the reigns of my life again. On that note, I chose to channel the old me! Mixing, or clashing, colors has always been one of my favorite things to do. This peter pan collared top, from W118 by Walter Baker, can be integrated into work attire but I chose to make it playful in this post. Instead of pairing this top with your typical white or black pants, I spiced it up with polka dot pants. Why blend in with the crowd, right? I did not want to wear too many colors so I opted for a red Jimmy Choo bag and blue L.A.M.B. Heels. As for my jewelry, nothing I had seemed right so I wore my flower pin (it's becoming my favorite item!).
