I wore this bold look around Downtown Huntington Beach and then ventured down to hang with boats in Newport Beach. I decided to wear this hot pink dress from LUSH as a top since the style and color matched perfectly with these elastic sweatpants. I didn't want the top to be close to my body so I decided to pull it up a bit so it could lay or "bubble" on top of my hips. I finished off my look with pink suede heels from Ivanka Trump along with my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli and Macy's Parrot Necklace.
As Spring Break reaches its end, I'll be sleeping in and enjoying a couple more stress-free days. It was a nice break from my academic studies and was long overdue. I indulged in a number of guilty pleasures during this time from stuffing myself with chocolate to binge watching my favorite shows. Nevertheless, all good things must come to an end, right?
To honor the first few days of spring, I thought I'd post this outfit! This was actually taken last summer but cold shoulder tops and bows are still all the rage for Spring! I rarely wear skinny jeans but this top paired perfectly with my distressed denim to create the epitome of casual cool. I somehow managed to not take any real outfit pictures over my vacation but I'll try to shoot some new material this weekend! Keep your suggestions and questions coming! Whether it's fashion or pharmacy related, I enjoy reading all your emails! Until next time!

Midterms are stressful regardless of the course but I find this round of exams building up a tremendous amount of anxiety in me. I typically weigh my priorities and study for classes as the test approaches. Postponing all my studying for a class until the midterm comes around has been my method since high school... However, it's starting to take a toll in me. One thing I came to realize this quarter is that I do require an adequate amount of sleep to function properly. I'm your typical Type A gal and I used to wince at the thought of missing class - no matter what was happening in my life, I made sure to attend every class. Nevertheless, I finally broke out of that routine during my second year of pharmacy school. I know not many people admit to "ditching class" but I find skipping class beneficial for my health. Sad, right? It's probably because I live quite a ways from campus meaning I have to get up extra early to beat the traffic nightmare each morning. Whether it's catching up on much needed sleep or studying for these intense, jam-packed classes, I'm choosing to take care of myself properly this time round. Maybe I should make another post regarding sleep and student life...
I still have a ton of unpublished outfits but I can't seem to muster up any free time to edit them. I wore this outfit over winter break and it was all about mixing some of my favorite versatile pieces with forgotten items! These red suede ankle boots were lost amongst my other shoes but as I began my closet purge, I found these beauties! They're a bit tight but they do make complement many of my outfits. I also found this houndstooth mini skirt with floral appliqués in my closet and it works great with Fall/Winter wardrobes. I'd love to hear more about what you guys want to see on my blog! I received a lot of requests from my pharmacy readers! Feel free to leave a note in my sidebar widget! Hope you like this outfit! Until next time!
Can you believe it's almost February? I have a bunch of midterms coming up but I'm glad they're spaced out! After Renal Block, I've found myself in much need of rest and naps... I'm guessing all that last minute cramming was a bad idea since I'm still reaping the consequences from last weekend's lack of sleep. All in all, this means that it's time to develop better habits! I'm getting back into yoga and I'm going to get on top of this studying game. I survived Renal by drinking massive amounts of regular green tea however, Jamba Juice's green tea smoothie is a also a great way to revitalize! This outfit was taken before Christmas break and I feel like it's impossible to wear turtlenecks now without sweating to death! Winter in California is still quite warm compared to the rest of the nation but we still manage to layer up just like East Coasters!
My goal is to upload a pharmacy post at least once a month... I have a few ideas but I'd love to know what topics you would like me to expand on and possibly provide clarity or insight! I added a suggestions widget on the right sidebar of my blog so you guys can leave me a note with ease! Until next time!
Reminiscing to a time when I didn't have to worry about imminent exams or drowning in a massive pile of work that continues to grow. I miss going to the beach every weekend without feeling guilty about pushing my studying aside... listening to the waves crash against the sand, picking up broken seashells, watching the sun disappear in the horizon, eating way too many sweets, trying to prevent birds from attacking me to steal my food, waiting for the occasional dolphin to appear (you can actually see them inNewport Beach)... Oh, how I miss all these simple pleasures in life.
This outfit was actually taken quite some time ago when I only had to think about meeting deadlines for my research project. This past month has been hot and humid but the nights are getting much cooler. I wonder what the weather in San Diego has in store for me this season. Hopefully it gets cold enough so I can start layering and playing around with my clothes. Besides locations for outfit posts, I plan on picking up photography again. The last time I actually focused on it was my first year of undergrad however, life and academics prevented me from fully committing myself to photography. It may be a slow process since I'm still settling into my new place, juggling school and a business but I do plan on committing myself to a few hobbies to keep myself sane. Until next time!

A casual outfit fit for the first day of school. Yes, I have worn outfits as such to school before - heels included! This lace, peter-pan collar top is a modest option that I find acceptable at any day occasion. Although the peplum adds a sense of shape at the waist, I wanted to accentuate my curves with this Betsey Johnson belt. Instead of pairing this top with basic white, black or bold colors, I chose to stick to neutral toned shorts, with a hint of black, from Forever 21. To finish off my look, I chose to wear nude heels to elongate my figure... which also reminds me that I really need to invest in some nude shoes since the BCBG Max Azria ones, pictured here, are a bit frazzled.
Hey guys, it's been a while! I just finished my 4th week of school and took my first midterm of the quarter. For those of you who follow along on my Instagram, particularly my Instagram Stories, you saw that I spent the weekend in Santa Barbara! I had the honor of giving a podium at the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. After many years of research, I was able to present my results to a group of peers. My project was a, "Comparison of Insulin Requirements in Distal Pancreatectomy Patients versus Whipple Procedure." I believe I was the only attendee who wasn't an MD, PhD or both. Many of my classmates asked me if I was nervous but I only felt tired. I juggled school, completing my presentation, my research paper and a new research proposal for this coming summer. I'm still suffering from "travel-lag" but I'm hoping to catch up on sleep this weekend!
Anyways, this is a typical outfit I would wear on cool or warm school days. When I was an undergraduate at UCI, I wore heels to class a majority of the time. Yes, I trekked up those crazy hills in Aldrich Park with heels and my feet did suffer... the things I do for fashion... Over time, the pain outweighed my desire to wear heels. My sneaker and flats collection is gradually getting larger though my heeled shoes closet is simultaneously growing at the same rate. When I began pharmacy school, I thought I could wear heels since P1 classes are in a single classroom. What I did not account for was the walk from the parking lot to the actual campus. Since I spend a great deal of my day at school and in traffic, flat comfortable shoes are my best friends. I love these leopard calf hair slip-ons from Kate Spade.
To all my future pharmacy students, what topics would you like to know more about? Many of you asked me about my typical day, life at UCSD/ San Diego and activities I'm involved in. I will be uploading my next pharmacy post in early February! I have to get through a four more midterms but then I'll finally have time to create posts that hopefully helps future or current applicants! Until next time!
Anyways, one thing I cannot live and survive school without is my agenda - it gets really messy as the school year progresses but it helps me stay organized. Not only does it help me highlight deadlines and midterms (high five to anyone who uses colored pens), my agenda helps me manage time! I highly recommend getting one even if you're no longer it school - it works for everyone no matter what you're doing in life. Now on to temperature! The weather has been a bit bipolar here in San Diego and Orange County has been experiencing the same temperature roller coaster. It's sunny and warm enough to leave the house without a jacket one day but then it starts pouring down the next. This outfit was taken in 2016 when warmer weather permitted me to leave the house in a maxi without shivering my skin off. I love wearing maxis since it elongates my petite frame and feels oh, so great to move in!
I've been getting a good amount of responses from potential pharmacy student candidates in emails and through the form and I'll address of your concerns within my posts! A lot of you wanted to know what my days are like and what you should do to prepare yourself for life as a professional student. More of this will come real soon! In the meantime, keep your comments rolling in! Until next time!
Sleep, sleep and more sleep! I'm so happy I can sleep in during winter break... though my idea of sleeping in is waking up at 9 AM. It's been one full week of break and I've already been back and forth from San Diego to Orange County twice! The drive past the San Onofre plants to Camp Pendleton is quite a drag and my eyes become blazing red afterwards but it's nice to be back in a place I associate with "home." My new location in San Diego is pretty great since it's close to everything you can think of: malls, restaurants, freeways... but it just doesn't feel the same (nothing compares to the malls in Orange County)! I also live in the mountains so driving up and down all the hills means lots of changes in altitude therefore, lots of ear popping! It's definitely a change of perspective since I used to be so close to the ocean. I plan on going back a few more times to finish off the last leg of my research at UCI and to do more damage to my bank account!
This is a typical casual outfit I wear to long days at school or during exams. I got this shearling lined parka/utility jacket from Zara quite some time ago but it was never cold enough in Orange County. I can definitely see myself wearing this on repeat in San Diego though... especially in my freezing cold classroom... Anyways, I saw these Timberland boots and I immediately fell in love - I linked the exact same style below (some colors are on sale under $100!). Even though they're 3" in height, they're beyond comfortable! I was able to walk up and down the crazy hills at UCSD without any trouble or pain! Style AND comfort? Yes, please!
Anyways, grades finally came out and I'm so glad I passed with honors! For those of you not familiar with the grading system at UCSD's Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, all of our classes are graded as Honors, Pass or No Pass (H,P and NP, respectively). I'm so thankful I survived my first quarter in Pharmacy School. It was definitely no walk in the park. My first quarter consisted of 5 classes: Law and Ethics, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Advanced OChem) and BioStatistics. Of those, I found Pharm Chem and Bio Stats to be my easier classes because I could visually see things meaning I could see electron movement and numbers. I ended up studying the least for these classes due to time restraints. The more demanding and aggressive class, to me, was Pharmacy Practice. I came into Pharmacy School without ANY experience in the actual field so I found myself spending a great deal of time trying to memorize brand names vs. generic names, dosing, ADE's, contraindications, etc. Even though I was able to get into all the Pharmacy schools I applied to without prior experience, I would definitely recommend all applicants to at least shadow a pharmacist if becoming a pharm tech is not a feasible option. Exposure to community pharmacy prior to admission into a pharmacy school not only helps you become acquainted with drug names, but you also learn a great deal about laws and regulations as well as "dangerous drugs." Even though you may not be interested in pursuing a career as a community pharmacist, like myself, dipping your toe into that line of work will be beneficial. I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I'm not sure if incorporating outfits into my pharmacy related posts is a good idea but hey, you get two for one and who doesn't like a deal. Until next time!
When I visit various other blogs, I develop a sense of distaste if it is not regularly updated, the composition is poor or the website itself is not appealing. In no way am I stating that my blog is top tier with excellent photography or page design but I was getting quite bored with my "usual" outfit shoot locations. After passing by my typical spot, I found a brown wall that was pretty bland but different. After turning into the parking lot I noticed some abandoned, or so it seemed, step ladders scattered all over. I immediately ran over and my mom started taking some shots. I eventually found one that wasn't taped up so I naturally climbed the steps. It started wobbling like crazy and I then realized that these were damaged ladders that were thrown out as a safety precaution. Well, those "danger" signs didn't alarm me. They were perfect props for this outfit which gave it some edge. Anyways, I am not a fan of body-conscious dresses but this casual collar dress, courtesy of Blue Vanilla, functions well for school or casual days out. To spice up this dress, I added a motorcycle jacket from Twenty Two Changes from Nordstrom and leather Michael Kors Booties. This exact outfit is something I would wear to go out for lunch or to class. Until next time!
I recently discovered an online retailer called, IFCHIC. They carry various independent brands, that you don't typically see in stores, along with some well known labels such as Alexander Wang and The Row. At first glance, you may notice that the average cost of an item ranges from $100-$200. HOWEVER, *cue suspenseful drumroll* you can earn $180, in IFCHIC tokens, towards your purchases on the 24th of EACH month! You can start collecting tokens after you make an account on IFCHIC. You'll see some pop-up prompts, either on the left or right hand side, with a rotating golden token. You can collect up to a maximum of $6 per day. What's the catch? You can ONLY use these IFCHIC tokens on the 24th and you can never collect more than $180 each month. So make sure to visit their site each day to collect your tokens!
This Greylin, Luisa Sleeveless Sweater Dress was purchased with IFCHIC tokens on their site! They ship extremely fast and the packaging is perfect! I know it's summer but this dress was calling my name! It works well for the office with d'Orsays and transitions perfectly into my after 5 attire. All you have to do is throw on a motorcycle jacket and this dress is date night ready!
So start collecting those tokens to use it at their next #ifchic24 event on August 24th!! Until next time!
I love creating new outfits with old favorites such as this sheer Z A R A cat top. I can't recall how many ways I've worn this top - with dresses, with pants, with skirts... the list goes on. For this particular outfit, I paired this ZARA top under my T O P S H O P crop top. To finish off this look, I added my favorite leather shorts! Have you guys ever worn leather when it's hot? It's grueling - trust me! Not convinced? Just YouTube "Ross in leather pants." High five to anyone who watches(ed) F R I E N D S !
I hope you guys are enjoying the last month of summer! Until next time!
Can you believe it actually rained in California this weekend? I'm what you would call a pluviophile. I actually just learned that word through a tumblr post which means a lover of rain - someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days. Even though we experienced some summer rain, it was still incredibly humid. Now onwards to my outfit. I received these floral shorts a few weeks ago. I tried numerous tops but none seemed aesthetically pleasing. White seemed to offset the shorts in an odd way, red seemed boring, green made me look like I walked right out of Christmas, and my striped shirts, juxtaposed to the floral shorts, made me dizzy. So I pulled out this Anne Klein halter top from my "to-donate" pile and cropped it to give it some edge. With the whole crop trend this season, why not take advantage of it? I decided to accessorize with a little gold infinity necklace courtesy of 9th and Elm. This website is unique since it features handmade and independent designs from numerous designers. To get details of my outfit and links for purchase, scroll to the bottom of this post. Enjoy!
The exquisite design at the Getty Villa, not to mention the architectural resemblance to ancient Rome, is phenomenal. Jonathan and I finally found some time to escape in this museum and the exterior was definitely pleasing to the eye. There was this one particular corner room that fascinated me. I cannot recall what it is called however, there was a vast selection of coins and jewelery. I probably found it alluring since I wanted to wear all of the bracelets and belts! After roaming through the corridors and observing the art, we decided to take some quick outfit shots before they closed. This was my "default" outfit since I could not find anything to wear. Do you guys ever have that problem? I wore simple beaded black cardigan and spiced it up with a pin I got from Michael's. I then paired this with a leather, pleated brown skirt that was a bit too big so I added a safety pin in the back! Until next time!
