May is an exceptionally busy month for me in regards to my academic endeavors. When I received this dress, it was "one size fits all." Unfortunately, this dress does NOT fit all sizes. Let's start with the lining. This dress comes with a black slip dress that was ridiculously tight - it is guaranteed to rip if you sit down. It also downplays the design so I decided to wear my own nude slip underneath this number. Additionally, the dress itself has a peculiar cut. I would consider myself petite and boy was this dress short! *Note to customers: don't bend down and do not wear on windy days!* Not only that but the sleeves are floating between 3/4th's and full length. But I do adore the style and it is surprisingly comfortable (not itchy at all!).

I immediately fell in love with this dress and I had to have it! However, I must say that it is IMPOSSIBLE to drive in. Unless you have someone else driving you around, I suggest you do something else to it... which is exactly what I did. The last picture demonstrates what the unaltered dress looks like. The sleeves are pretty long and I have this constant fear that if I sit down without scrunching the dress up, it will RIP. So to make driving and maneuvering around easier, I decided to use the two sleeves to form a bow that sits at the waist. Creative, huh? Until next time!

Nostalgic Afternoon

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and/or Boxing Day! When I think about this particular holiday, I always imagine snow that would allow me to build snowmen or make snow angels, the aroma of a real pine tree sitting in the living room, kids caroling door to door with multiple layers of clothing, the thrill of making gingerbread houses/men, singing along to Christmas music on the radio, going insane trying to find gifts for everyone, kissing underneath the mistletoe and good ole St. Nick himself! Too bad most of that is just a figment of my imagination... I had to turn on the air conditioning on Christmas Day! Anyways, I wanted to visit this alluring hotel for some time and I finally made it there! The intricate details of the architecture, the infamous rotunda and ghosts (*eep!*) all add to it's unexplainable charm. When Jonathan and I arrived at the hotel, we went on a grand adventure in search for stairwells or hallways that would grant us access to certain locations. When we finally figured out how to navigate the area, there was not a single location that was dull - this place is absolutely breathtaking! Every corner you turn is another opportunity for pictures and another opportunity to gaze at the magnificent work of art.

SLIGHT HEAT WAVE. Even though it is the middle of December, California is experiencing a slight increase in temperature! I know that Christmas is in ten days however, this year just seems different - not just due to the weather. I'm not getting the same holiday feel as I did in previous years... Maybe it's because I have quarantined myself in my room... just kidding! However, I have been dedicating the majority of my time to books as opposed to human interaction. Studying can drain a tremendous amount of energy so I try to incorporate things I enjoy such as outfit shoots, yoga, EATING, music and writing. Although I might not be sensing the same holiday thrill as others, my home does possess a warm and cozy Christmas atmosphere (maybe I should share pictures)! As for this outfit, I chose to pair this simple Zara dress with a gold necklace containing a hint of cerulean. I decided not to clash this dress with yellow or orange heels, as I usually would, since Autumn days call for booties!

PATTERN OF THE SEASON :: TARTAN. This criss -cross pattern of alternating band size seems to endure the test of time. It is extremely versatile in the sense that anyone can pull off this plaid pattern from those who love the 90's grunge trend to girls in their school uniforms. These Oxblood Tartan pants from ZARA exude a sense of rebellion while maintaining a touch of sophistication. To balance this look, I decided to wear leather boots from MICHAEL KORS to add a bit of "tough girl" personality and I topped off this ensemble with a conservative short sleeved turtle-neck with a statement necklace. SUBCONSCIOUS BELIEF that I should begin telling my story through text and photographs on my blog. I was once accustomed to documenting every miniscule detail of my life in countless journals until I began college. Though I had many reasons that led to the termination of jotting my daily thoughts onto paper, I suddenly feel the urge to write again...When I began pursuing undergraduate courses, I lost sight of myself. I entered believing that I had to omit certain passions to do well, to push aside previous hobbies to make room for medically related activities, to commit every single day to the "art" of studying and burying myself in textbooks. But I was wrong. Enjoying yourself and your time is a crucial component toward succeeding in life. Before I even had the notion of what personal style or fashion blogging was, I was genuinely engrossed by the craft of photography. My amateur photographs rendered me some devoted fans on my deviantart account and I looked forward to each day since it was an occasion for me to experiment. However, my affection for photography seemed to vanish within the summer.  

I will be reigniting my previous passions this coming year. Why? I need to enjoy life to not lose focus on my goals. Although I will devote a tremendous amount of time toward my studies, I also need to do things I enjoy. Expect more rambles such as this and be on the lookout for my photography in posts to come.

Flower Bomb

 TRANSITIONING TO AUTUMN WEATHER which means the holiday season is looming amongst us. Pumpkins of all shapes and colors, potpourri pine-cones emitting a spicy cinnamon aroma, foiled chocolate bars and scarecrows producing their best grin can be found in every market. The thrill of finding or creating the perfect costume to impersonate someone, or thing, you love or aspire to be is enticing. Going door to door and receiving chocolate or candy fills every void in the hearts of children. Oh, how I miss being a kid. But how times have changed...it just doesn't feel the same as it did 10 years ago. The magic and allure of the wicked holiday has completely vanished and has been replaced with greedy teenagers in skanky costumes (though not all, of course). Do you guys still dress up or have any continuing Halloween traditions? 

As for this outfit, I wanted to wear this dress before the crisp, fall weather came in full swing. Even though this dress is pretty in itself, I wanted to add accessories. I paired this dress with a golden necklace to enhance the collar and draw attention to the white piping on the dress. I also added an emerald necklace to give my outfit a little something extra. Additionally, I decided to wear my heart shaped clutch again and I believe it matches well with this outfit! Hope you like it!

Brighten Up- Zodiac DIY Scarf Top

I cannot believe that it's the first day of September! To celebrate the the end of a hot and humid summer, I wanted to wear something bold and bright. I had a bit of trouble coming up with something that would match this skirt so I decided to work some magic with my zodiac scarf. As in my other d.i.y. scarf top post (Check it out HERE), I wrapped it around my body and finished it off with a bow in front. I also added two shoulder straps to ensure nothing was accidentally exposed! I actually paired this outfit with the Zac Sac from Zac Posen but I forgot it at home - yes, I forgot my bag at home! My hands felt so empty during this outfit shoot but I worked with what I had. Anyways, I cannot stop wearing this crystal necklace courtesy of 9th and Elm (whoops, double negative). Fresh Florals

Dark skies? Gloomy Overcast? Seems as if Autumn is just around the corner! It's time to dust off those boots, pull out those scarves, and find those coats in the back of our closets! Even though I love sunny skies and maxi dresses, I sure do prefer being able to pile on layers of clothes. Besides, cooler weather permits for much more outings without sweating to death. Since it was a bit on the cooler side today, I decided to wear this jacket I recently received. When I first saw this embroidered jacket online, I honestly thought it would be thick - as in wool blazer thick. Contrary to the item's name, "jacquard jacket," the jacket has digitally printed florals and it lacks woven patterns - minus the embroidered flowers in the abdominal area. However, I should say that it does look nice in pictures and works well with jeans thus why I paired it with these flare ones. To give this look a hint of summer, I decided to wear my yellow espadrilles from Seychelles. As for my bag, it's the Madison Messenger Bag by Erica Anenberg. It's the first time I've worn this bag and I really wish I had this during college - it has enough capacity to fit a laptop or textbook! Hope you enjoy this post!

Crop it Like It's Hot

Can you believe it actually rained in California this weekend? I'm what you would call a pluviophile. I actually just learned that word through a tumblr post which means a lover of rain - someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days. Even though we experienced some summer rain, it was still incredibly humid. Now onwards to my outfit. I received these floral shorts a few weeks ago. I tried numerous tops but none seemed aesthetically pleasing. White seemed to offset the shorts in an odd way, red seemed boring, green made me look like I walked right out of Christmas, and my striped shirts, juxtaposed to the floral shorts, made me dizzy. So I pulled out this Anne Klein halter top from my "to-donate" pile and cropped it to give it some edge. With the whole crop trend this season, why not take advantage of it? Enjoying the Scenery | Southern Belle

With the increasing temperature in Southern California, the number of outdoor activities rapidly diminishes. Though the beach is my go to spot when I have nothing to do or no place to venture to, I'd rather not burn under the sun. Besides, the parking situation is dreadful. So I have been staying at home or seeking refuge at any air conditioned spot. Today was a bit cooler so I decided to finally wear this Southern Belle ensemble. I do not know how many of you watch Hart of Dixie on the CW but it is one of my favorite shows. Not because of the very interlaced storyline but because of Lemon Breeland's attire! I was mesmerized by her style from the first episode and I cannot wait until the new season begins. The touch of aristocracy this skirt exudes is undeniable plus, the bold necklace adds a special touch of elegance. I decided to pair this with muted salmon platforms and my Proenza Schouler PS11 Clutch.

For those of you who do not have plans on attending a health related graduate school, all I can say is that it's extremely competitive. GPA's must be high (above 3.5 GPA ) and clinical/research/volunteer experiences are crucial to the application. Personal statements, letters of recommendations, lists of activities, and manually typing in my coursework along with my grades... it's going to be fun. If you're one of the lucky ones, you'll be asked to complete and secondary/supplemental application. Hooray to more essays - I love writing so YAY! Then comes interviews. For those who do not know, potential students have to fly/drive to interviews. Sounds fun but it is definitely nerve racking. Can't wait to tell you guys more!

The Dainty Flower Blouse

MODERN ROMANTIC. Do you guys ever ponder about what life and culture would be like if you lived in another era? Well for some odd reason, creme colored clothing reminds me Paris in the 1950's or the Shakespearean era of Romeo and Juliet. I recently received this meticulous blouse from OASAP which you can puchase HERE! Though it took over a month to arrive, it was definitely worth the excruciating wait! Everything about this chiffon blouse from the crystallized buttons, to the beaded flowers on the collar, to the 3D flowers screams elegance and sophistication. If you are not already aware, I am a extremely attracted to lady like attire. And who says you have to spend an enormous amount of money to look good? It's like the good ole saying:

"YOU CAN BUY FASHION BUT YOU CAN'T BUY STYLE."

Grecian Delight

It's April Fools! I have yet to see any amazing jokes but do you guys know of any cool pranks? I received this "one- size" fits all dress in the mail a few days ago. I was obviously skeptical about the fit and how it would look like on me. When I tried this dress on for the first time, it was bigger than I expected. I know it isn't a body conscious dress however, it shouldn't be this loose! So instead of complaining, I found different ways to wear this dress. (Whenever I go shopping, I always make sure that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE whatever I am purchasing and/or it is extremely versatile). With that said, it wasn't hard coming up with new ways to wear this draped dress. As you can see, I chose to add a thin gold belt to this dress. I believe it adds more definition and it makes it look more interesting - it was a tad bit plain before I included the belt even though the right shoulder contains some beads ( my hair is covering the details, whoops! ). This works well for a casual party or get-together but if you're looking for something that fits into your daily wardrobe, then I would suggest wearing this dress with pants! That's right! The dress comes fully lined so I tucked that in and rolled up the dress. I then added the belt, yet again, and paired it with linen pants from Forever 21. Hope you guys like this post!

Sunburst Adventure

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN. We were experiencing such ideal weather in Southern California but of course Mother Nature teased us since is going to rain for the rest of the week. In the spirit of beautiful weather, I decided to wear one of my new dresses! I received this very bold orange burst dress courtesy of eShakti (My first collaboration with this brand can be seen HERE). If this is your first time hearing about this brand, you should check out their website. You may assume that I am merely promoting this brand since I am collaborating with them however it is not obligatory for me to have positive reviews. When I first tried on this dress, I was truly astonished at how well it fit me. Not to be cliché however, the dress fit me like a glove! When I zipped up the side zipper and walked toward the mirror, the structure and simplistic design of the dress evoked some sort of bewilderment. For those who do not know, eShakti allows its customers to customize their own dresses by choosing hip, waist and bust sizes along with height and special features such as the length of the dress and sleeves.  Anyways, to add a bit of personality to my dress, I decided to utilize two necklaces to create a belt.
