Anyways, even though change is good, I hope to embody the old me in future looks as the one featured here. Remember Gossip Girl? Everyone I knew was mesmerized by Serena van der Woodsen's attire. I was attracted to some of her outfits but Blair Waldorfs' outfits were a hit in practically every show. Each outfit was like a piece of art that exuded a sense of ladylike sophistication and power. I know this particular outfit isn't what she would wear but I am drawing inspiration from her and giving it my own modern flare. Maybe I'll do some "Inspired by ___" posts! But remember, always add personality to your outfit and own it! Until next time!
For this outfit, I channeled a darker side of my inner Southern Belle. I already miss seeing Lemon Breeland's fruity ensembles - she was meticulous about her appearance and she could do no wrong! But, I digress. I recently added this incredible crochet midi skirt to my collection and I can already see it as a great seasonal piece. Instead of pairing this with your typical black top and either tucking it in or leaving it out, I decided to crop it. Why? Showing a sliver of my abdomen warranted a more summery look as opposed to a regular top. To transition this skirt into fall, I would toss on a cape or an over the shoulder coat. Want to make this look a little more rebellious? Why not try a motorcycle jacket? Until next time!
How do you guys feel about the 90's making an epic comeback this season? I remember collecting a bunch of chokers in elementary and middle school but they were more on the bohemian side since they were in desert shades and beaded. I am pro-choker but a little bit indifferent about velvet.
When I received this velvet cami from Banana Republic, I was excited since it's currently on trend however, I really had no idea what to wear pair with it. I tried this top with leather pants, flare pants, and skinny jeans but those outfits just seemed so ordinary. I eventually stumbled onto these sequined shorts in my pile of boxes (I still have yet to fully unpack). To fully embody the 90's look, my mom cut off the an inch off the bottom of the camisole to make a choker - she even added a little trinket in the middle! I love the back of this cami and it's perfect for a night out or a casual day with friends! I finished off my look with snake embossed gold sandals, also courtesy of Banana Republic. They are much more comfortable than I imagined! I don't know if any of you recognize my backdrop, but it's the Geisel Library! My boyfriend came to visit over the weekend and our intention was to take pictures Downtown but it started pouring! We drove around aimlessly for a bit until deciding to head back towards UCSD. It was pretty crowded over the weekend... probably because finals are right around the corner. Anyways, I managed to make my way all the way up and down the snake path without any trouble or pain! These golden heels run true to size though the cami was quite big on me (I got an XS from Banana Republic). I hope you guys like this post - I linked my outfit details at the bottom! Off to studying I go, until next time!
I got these beautifully crafted Sam Edelman Mila Studded Booties, courtesy of Yoox, about 2 years ago however, I never found a way to style them. I would occasionally throw these gold and black booties on with random things I found in my closet. Pants, shorts, dresses... if you can name it, I probably tried it. I'm pretty petite so the outfits I conjured up made me feel tiny and a bit stumpy. But I wanted to wear these bad boys at least once. I spent my morning trying different outfits but none really worked. Another hurdle I had to face was wearing something that wouldn't be blown away by Santa Ana winds.
I eventually decided to go with an all black outfit. It was interesting working my attire from the bottom-up since I usually choose my shoes last. I tossed my favorite black motorcycle jacket over a basic black spaghetti strap and paired it with my black pleated leather skater skirt. Since I usually wear my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel, I decided to switch it up to my ZAC Zac Posen Mini Loren cross-body. This all black ensemble works for school or a casual shopping day out since these boots are surprisingly comfortable! Hope you enjoyed this post! Until next time!

Smells like TEAM spirit! It's time to feast on unhealthy appetizers and gather round the television to watch the S U P E R B O W L !! Who are you guys rooting for? I'm hoping this years game is better than the debacle of 2014... We practically knew who was going to win after the first play! Anyways, a football viewing party calls for lots of food and this is a typical outfit I usually wear to the market. To give this otherwise simple outfit a kick, I added my Steve Madden Work Boot Mules which I believe complimented my outfit very well. Hope you guys keep safe this weekend! Until next time!
