It's always nice to have a sweater on hand for those cool summer nights. I don't know if my fellow Californians can attest to this but I believe the weather is a bit unusual. There is an extreme dichotomy between the scorching heat of the day and the chilly breezes of the evening. Who am I to complain though... I'm thankful I can feel nice and toasty all year round. On a peculiarly cool day, I opted for my over-sized boxy hot pink sweater. My look wouldn't be complete without some clashing of prints so I paired this top with my favorite polka dot shorts with my TED BAKER floral clutch. I hope you're all staying safe and healthy! Remember to practice social distancing! Until next time!
My alma mater, the University of California, Irvine. These pictures were taken some time ago in front of the parking lot near PSLH. I had discussion in this ivy lined building but I can't recall the name! With the toasty weather in California, we don't exactly experience the full 4 seasons. Yet this is one of the few places that shows drastic seasonal changes in Orange County. Here's to hoping this ivy building stays intact. Anyways, since ASHP Midyear is almost upon us, I'll be in maximum overdrive mode very soon. Keep up with me through instagram @adriennenguyenn.
My pharmaceutical rotations have come to an end 😠For those of you who are reading my blog for the first time, my first 2 APPE rotations of P4 year were at Allergan and Pfizer. I intentionally planned these industry blocks as early as possible so I could obtain letter of recommendations for fellowship applications next month. My upcoming rotation, Block 3, will be at Walgreens. I know you must be thinking... why didn't you put this as your last rotation? Well, I chose to have retail during my 3rd block so I could work on applications. I definitely did not want to be juggling projects/early hours with medicine rotations on top of writing my letter of intents and narrowing the programs I'd be applying to. There's a reason to everything I do!
As I was ranking rotations as a P3, I did not have any guidance to the process but I was able to determine which rotations I needed earlier on to make myself a stronger candidate. For my past two rotations, I had support from numerous fellows and preceptors in various companies. I was overjoyed with how willing they were to give advice! For current pharmacy students, I'm here to help! To those of you who have reached out to me so far, thank you for all your sweet emails! I'm so happy to be able to pay it forward. I will be posting extensive blog posts about P4 year and individual rotations in 2020. To get a glimpse of what I'm doing every day, follow me on IG: @adriennenguyenn.
Anyways, here's one of the summer outfits I wore in Corona del Mar combining bohemian/California girl vibes. I honestly keep finding new items in my closet with tags still attached! I'm in need of a shopping intervention since I buy so many things and wear them only once, if I'm lucky. I'll also be doing a big update to my Poshmark closet in 2020.

Want to give your belle or beau a unique gift? Well, JORD watches has a wide variety of women's watches, as well as men's, in their unique wood watch design! I fell in love with this turquoise and zebrawood watch the moment I saw it - this skeleton watch is part of the CORA Series. So why this watch? What attracts me to it?
This watch features Swarovski crystal markers along with sapphire crystal glass. But that's not what gets me all fired up! Nope, it's the ability to see the heart and soul of mechanical watchmaking. This is a semi-skeleton watch that showcases a bit of the mechanics on the face of the watch however, if you reverse the watch to the opposite face, you get to see all the essential elements that goes into making this zebrawood watch. The gears and wheels in action... Oh my, I'm easily amused!
Check out JORD Watches! JORD Watches is currently running a giveway on their website! The winner will be given a $75 e-voucher while everyone else who enters (excluding the winner) will receive a $20 e-voucher! NO PURCHASE NECESSARY! Can't get any better than that, right? Head on over to JORD Watches from now until July 24th to enter!

BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS. Happy belated Thanksgiving guys! The herd of people waiting to go into Best Buy/Fry's, the plethora of women in the shoe department... INSANITY. I hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far! Even though I'm on break, there is so much work I have to complete. Anyways, I don't know how many of you watch Hart of Dixie on the CW but I have fallen in love with Lemon Breeland's outfits! She was an enormous inspiration for the outfit featured in this post!
I'm back to my regular outfit posts though I would love to move my blog into the direction of also incorporating lifestyle and travel. I mentioned it in the past but I did not realize how life as a student would rapidly consume me. I'm typically in front of the camera lens whenever I have a DSLR around however, I do snap a lot of pictures on my iPhone that I upload onto my VSCO. It's been one crazy summer and I cannot believe I start school in two weeks. From the numerous conversations I've had with upperclassmen, the second year of pharmacy is both a blessing and a curse. Why? Well, we have shorter days along with podcasts! One of the unique things about UCSD is that pharmacy students take courses with medical students during their second year. Which leads to the most common negative thing I hear. According to my colleagues, medical students typically regard pharmacy students as lower on the totem pole. I've seen and heard about this from a non-health professional patient's standpoint but to face this bias amongst healthcare providers? It's absurd. I'm excited for the school year to come and I'm hoping for the best. Hopefully there's no patronizing and all the stories I heard were isolated events.
Anyways, this outfit was actually taken in April 2017 for a day out at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. I found this comfortable black and white sweater dress that kept me warm throughout the chilly day. Since Jonathan and I planned on walking around Downtown San Diego, I wore my platform sneakers ( Get these exact oxford platform sneakers here at ZAPPOS ). We ventured into Little Italy where we came across this Firehouse Museum. Although it was closed, it made for a great contrasting backdrop! I've explored quite a bit of Downtown San Diego... from Seaport Village to the San Diego Passport Agency Building but I still feel like a transplant in the area. There's always something new around the corner and the streets are filled with so much life (not to mention tourists) on the weekends. I'm slowly discovering secrets spots in San Diego and I can't wait to document and share them with you guys! Until next time!
A Dolce and Gabbana inspired look from the 2009 Cruise Collection; I remember imitating a lot of the looks from this collection during my senior year in high school! I am a huge fan of bows and I have loved the color pink ever since I was a child.
Anyways, splurging on brand name clothing isn't always ideal so I opt for imagination and D.I.Y. projects! You can always find my mom and I working on something whether it be clothes or home goods! It's actually really fun coming up with inspired looks and making the cheap look chic! I will definitely do more inspired looks in the future :D
And now, I will present the newest addition to my collection of bags... well, actually my mom's collection. I'm just "borrowing" it (: It's a Lady Dior!
I suppose it's all about my outlook on things. The notion that I will not be tested on anything at the end is comforting. It's all about facts and being about to fully execute all my tasks with precision. But enough about my life, here's a bohemian inspired outfit I recently wore on an absurdly humid day in San Diego. I got this Forever 21 maxi dress not too long ago and I styled it my own personal way. I love, love, love sleeveless duster coats so when I realized how versatile this dress could be, I quickly snatched it up! I went out to lunch with my mom after we snapped these pictures and it was so good to feel the crisp cool air from the AC after suffering in the sun. Hope you guys like this post! Until next time!
SUBCONSCIOUS BELIEF that I should begin telling my story through text and photographs on my blog. I was once accustomed to documenting every miniscule detail of my life in countless journals until I began college. Though I had many reasons that led to the termination of jotting my daily thoughts onto paper, I suddenly feel the urge to write again...When I began pursuing undergraduate courses, I lost sight of myself. I entered believing that I had to omit certain passions to do well, to push aside previous hobbies to make room for medically related activities, to commit every single day to the "art" of studying and burying myself in textbooks. But I was wrong. Enjoying yourself and your time is a crucial component toward succeeding in life. Before I even had the notion of what personal style or fashion blogging was, I was genuinely engrossed by the craft of photography. My amateur photographs rendered me some devoted fans on my deviantart account and I looked forward to each day since it was an occasion for me to experiment. However, my affection for photography seemed to vanish within the summer.
I will be reigniting my previous passions this coming year. Why? I need to enjoy life to not lose focus on my goals. Although I will devote a tremendous amount of time toward my studies, I also need to do things I enjoy. Expect more rambles such as this and be on the lookout for my photography in posts to come.

It's April Fools! I have yet to see any amazing jokes but do you guys know of any cool pranks? I received this "one- size" fits all dress in the mail a few days ago. I was obviously skeptical about the fit and how it would look like on me. When I tried this dress on for the first time, it was bigger than I expected. I know it isn't a body conscious dress however, it shouldn't be this loose! So instead of complaining, I found different ways to wear this dress. (Whenever I go shopping, I always make sure that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE whatever I am purchasing and/or it is extremely versatile). With that said, it wasn't hard coming up with new ways to wear this draped dress. As you can see, I chose to add a thin gold belt to this dress. I believe it adds more definition and it makes it look more interesting - it was a tad bit plain before I included the belt even though the right shoulder contains some beads ( my hair is covering the details, whoops! ). This works well for a casual party or get-together but if you're looking for something that fits into your daily wardrobe, then I would suggest wearing this dress with pants! That's right! The dress comes fully lined so I tucked that in and rolled up the dress. I then added the belt, yet again, and paired it with linen pants from Forever 21. Hope you guys like this post!
Smells like TEAM spirit! It's time to feast on unhealthy appetizers and gather round the television to watch the S U P E R B O W L !! Who are you guys rooting for? I'm hoping this years game is better than the debacle of 2014... We practically knew who was going to win after the first play! Anyways, a football viewing party calls for lots of food and this is a typical outfit I usually wear to the market. To give this otherwise simple outfit a kick, I added my Steve Madden Work Boot Mules which I believe complimented my outfit very well. Hope you guys keep safe this weekend! Until next time!
