Pharm.D. Life

Hello all!

This page documents my journey as a student pharmacist and it's dedicated to potential/current Pharm.D. students.

I didn't have any guidance when I applied to PharmD programs and I felt like I was at a tremendous disadvantage; I relied solely on SDN which felt impersonal and outdated.

As I progressed through pharmacy school, I've met a number of fascinating people I'm ecstatic to call my peers and mentors. The wealth of information I obtained was invaluable and solidified the course of my career. But have you ever wanted something so bad you could almost taste it? I was always told that you couldn't become a Clinical Scientist in Clinical Development without a fellowship. I went through the entire ASHP Midyear process, had reception invites to every program I applied to, was fortunate enough to receive onsite invitations, received an offer letter and accepted. I'll go into more detail in a dedicated post but I withdrew from my fellowship and it was the HARDEST decision I have ever made. I connected with everyone at this program and will never forget all of those who saw my potential. I weighed the pros and cons to decide whether or not to continue with my fellowship or pursue an unbelievable opportunity. I am proud to say that I am a Clinical Scientist in Clinical Development working amongst amazing individuals. I will be forever grateful to the Principal Clinical Scientist on my team (and Hiring Manager) who saw a spark in me and hired me while I was still in pharmacy school!

I hope to aid as many curious PharmD students as possible by telling you my story. I promise I won't sugar coat anything. I will give you a raw look into my life. My struggles. My failures. My success. See everything in my posts below. Stay tuned for more.

XO,
Dr. Adrienne
