Gobble gobble! Fall happens to be my favorite season not only because of all the holiday decor and festivities but the food... THE F O O D!! So long diet! For some odd reason, apple pie and cinnamon rolls taste so much better this time of year. Well, to me at least, haha. Do you guys have a favorite hor d'oeuvre, entree or dessert you like eating during the holidays? If I could eat cookies and cake in lieu of everything else, I definitely would! Anyways, for this outfit post, I wanted to give you guys a sense of what I wear to business-like situations. There is a preconceived notion that professionals should wear dark or muted colors - especially if you wanted to be taken seriously. But where's the fun in that? No matter what season it is, I like incorporating my personality into my outfit! Despite questionable glances I might receive, I like wearing what embodies me best. Sorry, not sorry, conservatives! Oh, you may be wondering what my title means but I'm pretty sure many of you have watched Legally Blonde. Just think of this post as an ode to Elle Woods. I did want to become a lawyer at one point in my life! Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Reminiscing to a time when I didn't have to worry about imminent exams or drowning in a massive pile of work that continues to grow. I miss going to the beach every weekend without feeling guilty about pushing my studying aside... listening to the waves crash against the sand, picking up broken seashells, watching the sun disappear in the horizon, eating way too many sweets, trying to prevent birds from attacking me to steal my food, waiting for the occasional dolphin to appear (you can actually see them inNewport Beach)... Oh, how I miss all these simple pleasures in life.
This outfit was actually taken quite some time ago when I only had to think about meeting deadlines for my research project. This past month has been hot and humid but the nights are getting much cooler. I wonder what the weather in San Diego has in store for me this season. Hopefully it gets cold enough so I can start layering and playing around with my clothes. Besides locations for outfit posts, I plan on picking up photography again. The last time I actually focused on it was my first year of undergrad however, life and academics prevented me from fully committing myself to photography. It may be a slow process since I'm still settling into my new place, juggling school and a business but I do plan on committing myself to a few hobbies to keep myself sane. Until next time!

BUSINESS MEETINGS. As a wise man once said:
"Some succeed because they were destined to. Most succeed because they are determined to."
Most of us belong to the latter and must earn out position in society. Earning my Bachelor's was just the beginning of my educational pursuit and nothing will stand in the way of me and my goals. I plan on doing more both academically and in life as an entrepreneur.
ON THE RUN in an attempt to make it to work promptly. My tendency to arrive "fashionably-late" to practically everything developed during my freshman year in high school. Although I am altering certain things to make myself punctual, choosing my attire drains a significant amount of time. I can clearly recall the time when I was able to sit down, enjoy my breakfast and watch the morning news. But then again, I did not wear any makeup or care about the appearance of my hair. Time to be professional and punctual.
BOHEMIAN ALLURE! As Summer reaches its' conclusion, I wanted to take advantage of California's last bout of humid weather. Whenever I think of California, I conjure up images of palm trees swaying in the wind, watching sunsets on the beach with a live bonfire, taking a road trip through the desert in a convertible.... the list goes on. However, I also associate California with bohemian-like clothing. I can imagine a close group of girls dancing in a vast field at sunset in lace maxi dresses with feathers in their hair... but then again, that's just me, haha. So that thought inspired this look. Even though I am not in a maxi dress, I decided to pair this lace top with wide-legged pants from Forever 21. To give this ensemble a little something extra, I decided to take an old necklace from Limited Too and turn it into a headpiece. As for the news I have to share with you guys, I, unfortunately, have to make you guys wait a tiny bit more as things are being finalized!
MODERN ROMANTIC. Do you guys ever ponder about what life and culture would be like if you lived in another era? Well for some odd reason, creme colored clothing reminds me Paris in the 1950's or the Shakespearean era of Romeo and Juliet. I recently received this meticulous blouse from OASAP which you can puchase HERE! Though it took over a month to arrive, it was definitely worth the excruciating wait! Everything about this chiffon blouse from the crystallized buttons, to the beaded flowers on the collar, to the 3D flowers screams elegance and sophistication. If you are not already aware, I am a extremely attracted to lady like attire. And who says you have to spend an enormous amount of money to look good? It's like the good ole saying:
"YOU CAN BUY FASHION BUT YOU CAN'T BUY STYLE."
I find myself drawn to gypsy-bohemian patterns and looks when I'm shopping for home goods or clothes. Maybe it's because the most hyped about music festival, Coachella, is a few days away or that summer weather is now in full throttle in Southern California. Though this ensemble has a boho feel, I would not wear this to an outdoor festival with scorching temperatures. It's all about flowy dresses that make you feel liberated, flowers and fringes but I'll save that for another post. As for this outfit, I decided to finally wear this top (I bought this about 5 years ago and this is the first time I'm wearing it!). I love the warm hues of this paisley patterned top and how it just sits on me. To complete the look, I paired it with brown boots and a floppy hat.
It's April Fools! I have yet to see any amazing jokes but do you guys know of any cool pranks? I received this "one- size" fits all dress in the mail a few days ago. I was obviously skeptical about the fit and how it would look like on me. When I tried this dress on for the first time, it was bigger than I expected. I know it isn't a body conscious dress however, it shouldn't be this loose! So instead of complaining, I found different ways to wear this dress. (Whenever I go shopping, I always make sure that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE whatever I am purchasing and/or it is extremely versatile). With that said, it wasn't hard coming up with new ways to wear this draped dress. As you can see, I chose to add a thin gold belt to this dress. I believe it adds more definition and it makes it look more interesting - it was a tad bit plain before I included the belt even though the right shoulder contains some beads ( my hair is covering the details, whoops! ). This works well for a casual party or get-together but if you're looking for something that fits into your daily wardrobe, then I would suggest wearing this dress with pants! That's right! The dress comes fully lined so I tucked that in and rolled up the dress. I then added the belt, yet again, and paired it with linen pants from Forever 21. Hope you guys like this post!
A quick post featuring this very versatile Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Crossbody - courtesy of Snapette. Winter is reaching its denouement and the sun seems to rise earlier each day... making it that much more difficult to find a place to take outfit shots. For those of you who are feeling the heat, I hope you are finding ways to keep cool! Anyone want to hit the beach? (:
Even though Spring is a little under two weeks away and the drought is still affecting California, flowers are definitely in bloom! I was planning on taking outfit pictures at a nearby building but once I saw this field of flowers, I couldn't resist jumping into it! Yes, I jumped into suspiciously soft mounds of dirt in platforms - I hope I didn't disturb or ruin any creatures' home (*insert sad emoji*). Anyways, this location tested my balancing skills but my daily yoga routines sure paid off! There were some paved paths but as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said,
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
I know, I know. There's a more convoluted, metaphorical, and philosophical meaning to that quote but it works for my situation too!
Gingham is the perfect print for Spring. Especially if it's blue and in the form of a dress! I got this blue gingham dress, with the cutest sewn in pointed collar, from Nordstrom. It falls below the knees so you don't have to worry too much about the wind whipping up your dress. This midi dress is great for a casual day out and it's comfortable enough for travel! As I was filtering through my pictures, I realized all that was missing was a bouquet of flowers, a picnic basket and a beach cruiser! Those accessories would make my outfit that much more exciting! Oh well, I hope you enjoy this Spring Outfit! Until next time!

I had the privilege of attending the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Symposium at, none other than the "happiest" place on earth - Disneyland. Although some of the terminology used during the talks were foreign to me, it reassured my decision to pursue a career in healthcare. I know it may sound a bit cliché however, the endless possibilities in science and medicine never ceases to amaze me. The research that goes into discovering relationships between potential drug alternatives and the prevention of diseases is amazing... actually, amazing is an understatement. This isn't the outfit I wore to such a formal event, obviously. I decided to mix a bit of rebellion into my bohemian-esque attire. My mom bought me this enchanting long cardigan sweater from Anthropologie for Christmas. Do you guys ever buy things, shove it in the back of your closet and rediscover it a few months later? If so, high five! We're on the same boat! Well, to juxtapose the long cardigan, I chose to pair this with a simple black mini dress. To complete my look, I chose black and gold accessories. Hope you like this outfit!
When I laid this outfit out, I wanted to add a pop of hot pink but things always look radically different when I put it on. Does that ever happen to you guys? You think it looks good on the hanger and then you put it on, look at the mirror and your immediate reaction is WHAT THE ****!? Haha. Following that reaction, I decided to pair this outfit with some pale pinks. Of course, I could not resist adding some bold color into my outfit thus why I have carrot sunnies on!
