NEW YEAR, NEW PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE. I hope everyone is enjoying they year and keeping warm - especially those on the East Coast! I feel so fortunate to live in toasty California since the weather is perfect all year round! All of my goals are academic and I am working hard to make them reality. Are you guys able to check off every item on your list? I know the typical resolution revolves around fitness and the desire to reduce your body mass index but I never felt compelled to make that my primary goal. Whatever your goals may be, conquer them with passion and devotion. I know this may sound a bit peculiar but I usually make everything seem like some sort of macabre game. For instance, if I make it my goal to run for 30 minutes and I begin losing my breath at 25 minutes, I start saying to myself, "If you don't complete this, something truly devastating will happen to some one you care for...." Obviously, I do not want anything horrible happening to anyone I love so I utilize every ounce of energy that is left to finish it. You probably think I am insane but it works... for me at least! As for my outfit, I decided to start off the year with a casual outfit post. Unless I am going out with my mom, I am more prone to throw on something comfortable. I have been studying and finding refuge in libraries or classrooms so this is the perfect attire for just that!
BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS. Happy belated Thanksgiving guys! The herd of people waiting to go into Best Buy/Fry's, the plethora of women in the shoe department... INSANITY. I hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far! Even though I'm on break, there is so much work I have to complete. Anyways, I don't know how many of you watch Hart of Dixie on the CW but I have fallen in love with Lemon Breeland's outfits! She was an enormous inspiration for the outfit featured in this post!
Long weekends are always the best! Even though I don't get much studying done, I do catch up on much needed sleep! Besides getting some extra ZZZ's, I did A LOT of shopping! I was glad to get a break from my packed schedule this quarter! I had free clinic for the first time last week and I found it rather fun. I heard mixed reviews from my classmates but my experience alongside a medical student was pleasant. The clinic I attended is located in Pacific Beach and there is quite a large turnout. From past experiences to now, I found it's only when you're immersed in the medical field that you understand how much knowledge you've acquired from school/life. Furthermore, you get to see firsthand how convenient it is to know Spanish. Thankfully, I'm taking it this quarter!
This particular outfit was taken when I first started pharmacy school... when it was still warm and I had time to actually dress up! What sucks is having to go to school early to get parking and beat traffic! Anyways, this cute cold shoulder ruffle tier dress from ZARA is one the of cutest ready to wear pieces I have in my closet! I love the subtle design and pop of color! This dress didn't restrict any arm movements and I actually wore this under my white coat! I can't wait to whirl around in this again!
I decided that I will make separate posts for pharmacy related topics. I will dabble here and there about life as a pharmacy student within my outfit posts but I will reserve pharmacy shenanigans to their own posts. I plan on making a separate "PHARMACY" category in the navigation bar above for easier access so be on the lookout! Until next time!
With each summer, we see new trends, inspired by past eras, accelerate in popularity throughout the warm season just to vanish by winter. This year's more promising look happens to be the cold shoulder dress or top. They're everywhere... from your favorite style icons to your celebrity style crush to the mannequin at your favorite store - I believe this trend is here to stay. What's not to love about it though? This cold shoulder look is a great alternative to your basic sleeveless or short sleeved dress/top. I got this dress from the crazy end of summer ZARA sale. Have you guys ever been to the store during the sale - it's pure madness! But I digress. Besides the chic bows on the side of my arms, I love how it's in a simple baby doll style. Great for pigging out and it works wonders with the wind!
An update on life: I have one week left in Orange County but it still hasn't hit me. My departure is imminent yet I'm not feeling the sense of sadness I know I should. Sure, I'm just moving down south (an hour and a half away) but I'm leaving so much behind: the home I've spent my entire existence in, my research family whom I've grown very fond of (they've given me so much more than mentorship and friendship) and of course, my boyfriend. Long distance relationships are far from ideal but it's just something we'll have to figure out.
I'm still packing up my life essentials (clothes, clothes and MORE CLOTHES), throwing things away left and right, finishing up at work/research... The stress is real! Anyways, I get the keys to my new house next week and I'll be moving in a few days afterwards. I cannot believe I'm starting school again! Life without school has been quite fun - no homework, no all nighters, NO EXAMS, going to different places during the weekday to avoid crowds... but I must say, I truly miss being a student. I might be mad but I cannot wait to be intellectually stimulated again! Until next time!

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN. We were experiencing such ideal weather in Southern California but of course Mother Nature teased us since is going to rain for the rest of the week. In the spirit of beautiful weather, I decided to wear one of my new dresses! I received this very bold orange burst dress courtesy of eShakti (My first collaboration with this brand can be seen HERE). If this is your first time hearing about this brand, you should check out their website. You may assume that I am merely promoting this brand since I am collaborating with them however it is not obligatory for me to have positive reviews. When I first tried on this dress, I was truly astonished at how well it fit me. Not to be cliché however, the dress fit me like a glove! When I zipped up the side zipper and walked toward the mirror, the structure and simplistic design of the dress evoked some sort of bewilderment. For those who do not know, eShakti allows its customers to customize their own dresses by choosing hip, waist and bust sizes along with height and special features such as the length of the dress and sleeves. Anyways, to add a bit of personality to my dress, I decided to utilize two necklaces to create a belt.
I received this marvelous dress courtesy of eShakti which is an online boutique that customizes their clothes to fit your body! That's right - no more wasting time getting things altered! I believe their concept of generating clothing to perfectly match any size from 0-36W is sensational. I usually have a difficult time finding clothes that truly fit me. I fit a size 00 pants at I.N.C. but I also have a pair of Hydraulic shorts that are a size 6; yes, I am aware that those two sizes are drastically different but it is true! You guys can get your hands on this dress HERE!
