It felt great to be back in DC! The only other time I've ever been was during my middle school trip! I recall wandering through some of the Smithsonian Museums, touring the White House, visiting Mount Vernon, watching a reenactment of the Revolutionary War, and more! Unfortunately, since this was a business trip, I did not have a lot of leisure time to revisit these sites or explore other historical aspects of this wonderful nation. The Windy City sure lives up to its name! I attended a conference in Chicago earlier this year and managed to squeeze in some activities! I read an article stating that there will be limited access to The Bean until Spring 2024 due to construction starting mid-August! Glad I visited this infamous sculpture at Millennium Park prior to the restricted access... Imagine how difficult it will be to snap pictures now. This was taken during the pandemic but I never got the opportunity to share my pictures here! I had flew United Polaris from San Diego to Brussels and I enjoyed it! There were horrendous delays that caused me to miss one of my connections from Manchester to Brussels and another delay where I had to sprint 15 minutes to make my connection in Washington D.C. Regardless, I had a great inflight experience. Watch my vlog below and click "Continue Reading" to see more pictures.
Morning from Brussels! It was a bittersweet goodbye to Paris but I wanted to discover more of Europe! I arrived to Belgium via train. I left Paris from Gare du Nord on Thalys. I arrived at Brussel-Zuid/Midi and had to make my way to Brussel-Centraal with two suitcases and a tote. Let's just say it was an adventure. There was an option of catching another short train to my destination however, getting on and off the train was a struggle. I opted for an Uber because I thought it would be simple. My Uber driver left me since I took too long to "appear" and I was charged the entire ride fare 😐. I ended up using an airport taxi since it was more convenient. Bonjour! This post has sure been a long time coming! The pictures here were taken June 2022 and I've since travelled to Paris again this year! After traveling to Paris in 2023, I can say that tourism is running at high capacity. The crowds felt more dense at all the tourist hot spots and traffic felt worse this time round. I visited many of the same locations featured in this post!
I started my morning by hopping into an Uber to Place du Trocadéro where I was immediately greeted with mesmerizing views of the Eiffel Tower. Below is a short vlog of my day around the city along with some selfies and snaps. Click "Continue Reading."
