Smells like TEAM spirit! It's time to feast on unhealthy appetizers and gather round the television to watch the S U P E R B O W L !! Who are you guys rooting for? I'm hoping this years game is better than the debacle of 2014... We practically knew who was going to win after the first play! Anyways, a football viewing party calls for lots of food and this is a typical outfit I usually wear to the market. To give this otherwise simple outfit a kick, I added my Steve Madden Work Boot Mules which I believe complimented my outfit very well. Hope you guys keep safe this weekend! Until next time!
European Aesthetic. The temperature is continuously decreasing and I am definitely prepared for the harsh winds that come along with Autumn/Winter!
You guys can also read an interview I did HERE for "8 questions blog."
MUTED TONES make me yearn for Paris even more; for some peculiar reason, I associate France with pale, muted colors. I own a number of turtle necks however, I rarely wear them due to the warm temperatures in Southern California. Fortunately or unfortunately, whichever way you want to view this, we have been experiencing piercing cold weather for the past week - it was actually colder here than New York City! Despite the static that results from the wind and the intolerable weather, I enjoy layering and finally being able to wear my coats! Anyways, I could not find a bag to match this outfit so I decided to accessorize with my iPad!
On another note, I recently received an email from Firmoo about a possible collaboration. I was a bit skeptical about this not because of the website but due to my inability to find glasses that "fit" my face. I always spend an enormous amount of time scavenging for sunglasses that can enhance the features of my face. Additionally, I always wanted to pull off the "nerdy" glasses however, all of the previous ones I tried on, IN STORE, made me appear cross-eyed. I wanted to test my luck so I decided to go for this pair which you can get HERE! Once I received this in the mail, I immediately ripped open the package and placed the glasses on my face. I looked in the mirror and it looked good on me, wink wink! These glasses are amazing however I do find something odd about them. I do not wear glasses or contacts so I ordered these as "fashion glasses" yet they irritate my eyes and make me feel a bit dizzy. I would only wear these for fashion posts however if you do have prescriptions, these are great! As a promotion, Firmoo is offering a "your first pair is free deal!" You only have to pay for shipping and you can get it here!
ASTONISHED! I have some exciting news I cannot wait to share with you guys! I am not obliged to keep it a secret however, I am choosing to wait until everything is finalized. As for this outfit, I decided to FINALLY wear my Prabal Gurung for Target heels. I scurried to a nearby Target on the release day to get my hands on these babies before they ran out of my size. I honestly forgot about them but as I was searching through some belts and trinkets, I found these still wrapped in the original box! I must say that they're extremely comfortable (hooray!). I do not usually clash prints but I believe that this top works well with my heels, don't you think?
My style has been very casual and laid back for the past two years. I used to love dressing up even if I had no where to go but then again I hated wasting a good outfit on an uneventful day. I would draw inspiration from just about anything - art, buildings, music and other people. I enjoyed coming up with different outfits and trying to work them at different events but it seems as if that part of me faded away. Not just in style but in other areas of life as well. I have decided that it's time regain what I lost.
Motivation. Determination. Drive. Passion.
This my metamorphosis post. No more excuses. No more slacking. No more hesitation. It's time to take control and hold the reigns of my life again. On that note, I chose to channel the old me! Mixing, or clashing, colors has always been one of my favorite things to do. This peter pan collared top, from W118 by Walter Baker, can be integrated into work attire but I chose to make it playful in this post. Instead of pairing this top with your typical white or black pants, I spiced it up with polka dot pants. Why blend in with the crowd, right? I did not want to wear too many colors so I opted for a red Jimmy Choo bag and blue L.A.M.B. Heels. As for my jewelry, nothing I had seemed right so I wore my flower pin (it's becoming my favorite item!).
I received this collar quite some time ago and I completely forgot about it, whoops! The button on this collar fell off probably because I kept on taking it on and off so I replaced it with my National Junior Honor Society Pin (yes, I still have pins from middle school!) Nonetheless, it would be something I would buy if I saw it at a store. The spikes on the collar make it très chic.
Are you guys ready for what 2016 has to offer? I know I am! There are so many exciting changes coming this year - I cannot wait to share it with you guys so stay tuned! Speaking of 2016, do you guys have any New Years Resolutions? I can't recall what my 2015 resolution was but for 2016, I want to take time to enjoy all my meals. I know, sounds a bit odd, right? Well, I am always in a rush so I don't have the luxury of sitting down to appreciate food. Therefore, I will try my best to make time to savor each meal... baby steps!
For my first post of 2016, I wanted to show you a weather appropriate outfit. Layering is now an option since El Niño is in the imminent horizon - keep warm and stay safe, fellow Californians! Anyways, I finally pulled out this Aztec Print Jacket I got from Forever 21 about a year ago. I wanted to wear this over a dress or sweater and skirt combo however, it was just too chilly. I opted for layering this jacket over a beloved (shrunken) V-Neck Sweater and sheer floral button down. To keep my legs warm, I chose to wear skinny pants and my suede over the knee boots (these OTK Boots have been on repeat a lot this season)! I believe this is the perfect outfit for school - when it gets toasty in class, you always have the option of taking off your jacket and still looking chic AND when you're running to different lecture halls, the jacket will keep you warm and cozy!
2012, A YEAR TO REMEMBER. I mean we all survived the over-hyped "end of the world," we watched the Hostess Bankruptcy play out, we saw President Obama win re-election, the New York Giants won their 4th superbowl, we all watched a snippet here and there of the London Olympics, the iPhone 5 came out, Space Shuttle Endeavour made its way to California (I have pictures on my Twitter!) and how can anyone forget Gangnam Style? However, America was hit by tragic, violent acts that resulted in the lost of precious lives and Mother Nature's wrath. With that said, 2012 is coming to an end and it's time to look 2013 with our heads held high and see what it has to offer.
I received this marvelous dress courtesy of eShakti which is an online boutique that customizes their clothes to fit your body! That's right - no more wasting time getting things altered! I believe their concept of generating clothing to perfectly match any size from 0-36W is sensational. I usually have a difficult time finding clothes that truly fit me. I fit a size 00 pants at I.N.C. but I also have a pair of Hydraulic shorts that are a size 6; yes, I am aware that those two sizes are drastically different but it is true! You guys can get your hands on this dress HERE!
