Speckled Blue Roses

On those warm California days in January, I like breaking out of my sweater and pants or skirt routine for a lightweight dress. Though nightfall quickly brings in a brisk chill, the sunny weather demands skin baring attire. This Maison Jules midi dress clashes flowers, stripes and polka dots in the utmost appealing manner. If you look closely, you'll be able to see pleats on the bottom half of the dress - it does inhibit the whole "dress blowing in the wind" vibe but it's a great lunch date look! I finished off this outfit with wedged sandals which gives me height while keeping my feet comfortable! To transition this look into night, toss on a sweater and enhance your waist by cinching it with a belt! Until next time!

Tweedy Bug

Though it's been raining on and off in Southern California, it is still warm enough to wear skirts without pantyhose! I took advantage of the weather by wearing one of my most coveted items in my closet - my Dolce & Gabbana Tweed Floral Pencil Skirt. I fell in love with this piece the moment I laid my eyes on it. Better yet? I found it at Nordstrom Rack! If it were summer, I would pair this skirt with a dainty yet sophisticated black silk strappy top. However, Fall in California calls for a sweater so I wore my green, beaded ladybug Tory Burch sweater.

I wore this outfit to the mall with my mother and that calls for comfortable shoes (we typically spend hours in stores). Therefore, I broke into my new gold heeled flat D'Orsays from Sam Edelman. It's the cutest pair of low heels I own! I finished off my look with a tote from Reed Krakoff. This outfit also works well for the office and business meetings. I couldn't find these exact items so I linked similar pieces below - until next time!

Aztec Nomad

Are you guys ready for what 2016 has to offer? I know I am! There are so many exciting changes coming this year - I cannot wait to share it with you guys so stay tuned! Speaking of 2016, do you guys have any New Years Resolutions? I can't recall what my 2015 resolution was but for 2016, I want to take time to enjoy all my meals. I know, sounds a bit odd, right? Well, I am always in a rush so I don't have the luxury of sitting down to appreciate food. Therefore, I will try my best to make time to savor each meal... baby steps!

For my first post of 2016, I wanted to show you a weather appropriate outfit. Layering is now an option since El NiƱo is in the imminent horizon - keep warm and stay safe, fellow Californians! Anyways, I finally pulled out this Aztec Print Jacket I got from Forever 21 about a year ago. I wanted to wear this over a dress or sweater and skirt combo however, it was just too chilly. I opted for layering this jacket over a beloved (shrunken) V-Neck Sweater and sheer floral button down. To keep my legs warm, I chose to wear skinny pants and my suede over the knee boots (these OTK Boots have been on repeat a lot this season)! I believe this is the perfect outfit for school - when it gets toasty in class, you always have the option of taking off your jacket and still looking chic AND when you're running to different lecture halls, the jacket will keep you warm and cozy!
