I wore this bold look around Downtown Huntington Beach and then ventured down to hang with boats in Newport Beach. I decided to wear this hot pink dress from LUSH as a top since the style and color matched perfectly with these elastic sweatpants. I didn't want the top to be close to my body so I decided to pull it up a bit so it could lay or "bubble" on top of my hips. I finished off my look with pink suede heels from Ivanka Trump along with my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli and Macy's Parrot Necklace.
Can you believe it's almost February? I have a bunch of midterms coming up but I'm glad they're spaced out! After Renal Block, I've found myself in much need of rest and naps... I'm guessing all that last minute cramming was a bad idea since I'm still reaping the consequences from last weekend's lack of sleep. All in all, this means that it's time to develop better habits! I'm getting back into yoga and I'm going to get on top of this studying game. I survived Renal by drinking massive amounts of regular green tea however, Jamba Juice's green tea smoothie is a also a great way to revitalize! This outfit was taken before Christmas break and I feel like it's impossible to wear turtlenecks now without sweating to death! Winter in California is still quite warm compared to the rest of the nation but we still manage to layer up just like East Coasters!
My goal is to upload a pharmacy post at least once a month... I have a few ideas but I'd love to know what topics you would like me to expand on and possibly provide clarity or insight! I added a suggestions widget on the right sidebar of my blog so you guys can leave me a note with ease! Until next time!
A casual outfit fit for the first day of school. Yes, I have worn outfits as such to school before - heels included! This lace, peter-pan collar top is a modest option that I find acceptable at any day occasion. Although the peplum adds a sense of shape at the waist, I wanted to accentuate my curves with this Betsey Johnson belt. Instead of pairing this top with basic white, black or bold colors, I chose to stick to neutral toned shorts, with a hint of black, from Forever 21. To finish off my look, I chose to wear nude heels to elongate my figure... which also reminds me that I really need to invest in some nude shoes since the BCBG Max Azria ones, pictured here, are a bit frazzled.
PIOLdress.com is a revolutionary website by which any woman can design the perfect, go-to dress - in color, style and fit - that completely suits her body. Using advanced make-to-measure technology, hundreds of beautiful fabric, and an intelligent system of design, PIOL offers customization at its highest level. Inspired by Edith Head, famed costume designer during Hollywood's Golden Age, the PIOL Dress system is three-fold:
First is COLOR, Depending on the color of your hair, eyes and skin, there are certain colors that make you "pop." PIOL offers a variety of fabrics from Italy, France and Japan in colors and prints that are designed specifically to highlight your individual color. If you have dark colored hair, you may have noticed that the color scheme they offer you consists of many earth tones. Though these hues work with my physical features, I wanted a pastel color for summer. So I played around with the hair and eyes options to find the pink featured in these pictures.
Next is STYLE. PIOL has five different sihouettes - each with its own selection of neckline, skirt and sleeve length. You can easily find the perfect cut that will show off what you like most and camouflage the rest. I have been in search for a good funnel neck dress and this was my opportunity to finally create the perfect shift dress. I am petite in size so I chose the shortest possible skirt size and I opted for a sleeveless dress.
Third is FIT. Most women are not perfectly proportional from top to bottom nor do they fit into the standard sizing of a typical dress. Using your body measurements, PIOL will custom make a dress that is guaranteed to fit you better than anything you can find off the rack. After choosing your color, neckline, skirt style and sleeve length, PIOL will prompt you to select your height, bust, hip, and waist measurements.
PIOL's unique understanding of color, style and fit allows you to create a dress that cannot be found anywhere else. Hand sewn in NYC, the dress will arrive in 3-4 weeks with the ability of a full refund for the price of the dress. I absolutely love the style and color of this dress - I believe it embodies Jackie O's simple yet extremely sophisticated sense of style. Check out PIOL's website HERE.
Hey guys! Jonathan and I went to watch the Pacific Symphony perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana as part of their Classical Series. I bet many of you know this EPIC piece by ear but not by name - try Youtubing it! Instead of watching their performance indoors, we opted for the outdoor viewing. It was nice to experience orchestral music in a different environment but it was terribly cold! I love listening to classical music and Jonathan just loves being with me so he endures it just for me... Awwww! Today just happens to be his birthday! May all your birthday wishes come true! I wish we had more pictures together so I could post them here. We always try to take pictures when we're out together but they just turn out looking really weird, haha!
Anyways, here is an unpublished post of our visit to Paramount Ranch. It took us a while to get there with all the Los Angeles traffic - Californian's, you know what I mean, haha! Once we finally arrived at our destination, we saw a number of cars and trailers scattered around the parking lot. I was already grumpy since my gluteus maximus was going numb and now this tiny area had a lot of people? Great! Well, we walked inside and guess what? They were filming a Western movie! Witnessing the director call "action" and "cut" was interesting but the fact that we had to be quiet was irritating. We chose the wrong day to go however, we managed to sneak in some pictures as the set moved around the ranch!
Can you believe it actually rained in California this weekend? I'm what you would call a pluviophile. I actually just learned that word through a tumblr post which means a lover of rain - someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days. Even though we experienced some summer rain, it was still incredibly humid. Now onwards to my outfit. I received these floral shorts a few weeks ago. I tried numerous tops but none seemed aesthetically pleasing. White seemed to offset the shorts in an odd way, red seemed boring, green made me look like I walked right out of Christmas, and my striped shirts, juxtaposed to the floral shorts, made me dizzy. So I pulled out this Anne Klein halter top from my "to-donate" pile and cropped it to give it some edge. With the whole crop trend this season, why not take advantage of it? I decided to accessorize with a little gold infinity necklace courtesy of 9th and Elm. This website is unique since it features handmade and independent designs from numerous designers. Summer is just a few days away and I cannot wait to enjoy some time off! Though I am a native Californian, I haven't dawned a bikini on the beach for quite some time. When I was younger, I would wear bikinis every week since I took swimming lessons. The only reason I do not like baring a lot of flesh is due to the fact that my skin is extremely sensitive. No matter how much sun protection I slather onto my skin, I eventually burn and become three shades darker, seriously! But I might frolic around the beach in the morning. With the perfect weather in Southern California, why not take advantage of it? Plus, I love the fresh morning air!
Onward to this outfit! Since graduation is coming up, I wanted to show all of you what I wore last year! I wanted to keep things simple and of course, I wanted comfortable heels. I didn't want to trip or fall down the stairs as I shook hands with the dean - talk about a picture perfect moment! For all you ladies out there, I would caution you about sky high heels - just stick to comfortable heels you've already broken into. Hopefully you won't have to walk through grass! To see what my graduation was like, check my graduation post here!
DO you guys ever find yourself wishing for more time? Whether it's to study for an exam, elongate a well deserved vacation or anything of the likes, just try to stay optimistic. Things could be worse! For those of you who read my previous post, I just have so much to do this month and that bright light at the end of the tunnel seems quite far. Just thinking about it is making my mind whirl but I am maintaining my sanity through music and exercise. I tend to listen to the Amélie soundtrack whenever I need to concentrate and it really makes me want to pick up both my violin and piano again. Sure, I play some of my favorite pieces on the piano from time to time but I would love to challenge myself with some new music.
To all the mother's out there, I hope you had a wonderful day! My mom is my number one supporter and she is always there for me: presentations, performances, you name it! She even takes 98% of my outfit pictures! I know I don't show it all the time but thank you for everything! I love you, mom!
On that special day, my mom and I both woke up at 8AM with the intention of going out but it took us 5 hours to get ready! We faced the gruesome test of choosing what to wear. Before we went back home, we made a pit stop at...d r u m r o l l....Sprinkles Cupcakes! Little did we know that there would be an incredibly long line! But then again it was inevitable since it was Mother's Day. My mom tried to convince me to forget about the cupcakes but we were already there so I basked under the sun (the line was so long it went out the door and into the parking area - Newport Beach location) for about half an hour.
My style has been very casual and laid back for the past two years. I used to love dressing up even if I had no where to go but then again I hated wasting a good outfit on an uneventful day. I would draw inspiration from just about anything - art, buildings, music and other people. I enjoyed coming up with different outfits and trying to work them at different events but it seems as if that part of me faded away. Not just in style but in other areas of life as well. I have decided that it's time regain what I lost.
Motivation. Determination. Drive. Passion.
This my metamorphosis post. No more excuses. No more slacking. No more hesitation. It's time to take control and hold the reigns of my life again. On that note, I chose to channel the old me! Mixing, or clashing, colors has always been one of my favorite things to do. This peter pan collared top, from W118 by Walter Baker, can be integrated into work attire but I chose to make it playful in this post. Instead of pairing this top with your typical white or black pants, I spiced it up with polka dot pants. Why blend in with the crowd, right? I did not want to wear too many colors so I opted for a red Jimmy Choo bag and blue L.A.M.B. Heels. As for my jewelry, nothing I had seemed right so I wore my flower pin (it's becoming my favorite item!).
