I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas - even if that meant spending time with loved ones virtually. It's been one hectic year and we all seek comfort in gathering with each other over the holidays but this year was just one where we had to opt out. I'm hoping that this time next year, we'll be able to gather without masks! 😷 Even though it was just my mother and I this Christmas, we still decorated the house! Check out the pictures below - they were all DIY! I'm sure I was flying high on spray paint fumes 😅 Stay safe and I wish you a Happy New Year! See you in 2021! 🎉
I wore a good deal of skorts as a kid and it just made sense. The ability to pull off that feminine look while preventing any indecent exposure as you're running around. Two birds with one stone, right? Well, as an adult woman in the corporate science world, skorts, unfortunately, do not comply with dress codes. I never thought I would be able to wear a similar rendition to the work place until I saw these pants. It's basically a longer version of a skort! A midi skirt + long pants = the PROFESSIONAL SKORT! I'm not sure what this is called but skirt pants just doesn't seem correct... Maybe it is that simple? 🤷
I wore this exact outfit to my first APPE pharmaceutical industry elective rotation at Allergan back in June 2019; I cannot believe it has already been over a year! Anyways, when I do go back into the office, I will begin posting more professional workwear content. The pandemic cannot end fast enough! I'm so glad there are two vaccines under EUA! Here's to hoping we can achieve a new kind of normal in the very near future!
Pharmacy Fellowship Reception at ASHP Midyear
ASHP Midyear Fellowship Interviews Monday, December 14, 2020Everything laid out here is based on my personal experience with navigating receptions at ASHP Midyear 2019 - Las Vegas. With the pandemic continuing its fury, ASHP Midyear 2020 has gone virtual. I was unsure whether or not there would be receptions this year but my friends who are going through the process said that these Zoom sessions are a blast! This post will probably be more applicable for those who are applying in person but it may shed some light on what to expect with receptions. I'm sure people have done things differently but I'm here to give you my two cents. I will also lay out things I wish I knew prior to receptions.
When you simply have nothing to wear, a black lace dress may be the perfect choice. Lace is subject to interpretation and I love how it can exude a delicate innocence or a sexy femme fatale persona. I own quite a few articles of clothing with lace fit for all sorts of occasions. I seldom wear body-conscious clothing and I often gravitate towards anything that can gain momentum with a slight breeze - this particular dress fits the criteria. I am fortunate to be living in a place that's warm 90% of the year so I took the opportunity to wear this dress out for a casual day of shopping. I dressed it down by pairing this dress with my red accessories: suede booties, shoulder bag and sunnies.
I am always looking for new content for my blog so if you have any ideas, pharmacy or fashion related, please do not hesitate to message me.
