I've teamed up with Banana Republic again to showcase their latest Spring midi dress for petites! The thought of SPRING conjures up images of flowers and bold colors... As you can tell by browsing through the images in this particular post, I found it only fitting to intertwine these two ideas together.

I have been in search for a fresh colored lightweight maxi for approximately a month so when this chartreuse strappy midi arrived, I jumped with joy! If you read my previous post in collaboration with Banana Republic, you already know that the dress featured in that story was a dream. It was as if a my exact measurements were taken to make that floral dress (See the first Banana Republic x invictus collaboration HERE). When I saw that this dress was also a 0P, I knew that I could slide comfortably in. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the fit. Why? Well, the dress is a tad loose around the torso but it's nothing a little alteration couldn't fix! Yes, I know this dress isn't supposed to be skin tight however, I prefer it when my clothes give definition to my body. Additionally, if you guys look online at this chartreuse pleased dress, you'll notice that it's ideally supposed to end mid-calf. As for me, the dress floated in between a midi and a maxi - I'm a little too short!

Yeah, so what though... I still like this dress! The loose casual feel gave me freedom to twirl and allowed me to eat to my heart's content without walking around with a protruding belly! It has a fun crisscross pattern in back, both the front and back are pleated and it has POCKETS! I had so much fun running through the Carlsbad Flower Fields in this lightweight dress! The wind did wonders to this dress though the wind effect in my hair is definitely another story. For all you flower aficionados out there, I did not destroy any flowers! This post is an ode to Coachella. Well, just me wishing I was there! For those of you who are following me on my instagram, you already know the back-story to this picture. But for those of you who aren't....

My mom and I decided to go to this very bare and rustic area to take some outfit shots of my boho look. I scouted the area with Jonathan a few years ago so I had a pretty good feel of my surroundings. Many cyclists and runners frequent the area so we ventured into one of the closed off paths to avoid the crowd. As my mom was taking the last few shots, I heard a very distinct buzz coming from behind. Of course, I assumed it was a fly just buzzing by. My mom stopped taking pictures because she thought there was a lot of "pollen" floating behind me. I turned around and to my dismay... it was a swarm of bees! HUNDREDS of them! *Signal Sympathetic Nervous System* Yeah, that's right. The first picture of this post features me standing in front of a swarm of surprisingly friendly bees!

I ran to my mom like a mad woman and we both crouched on the ground right next to each other. It probably took only a minute for them to pass by but it felt like a lifetime! I have been stung by a bee before and it is definitely NOT FUN. When I got back to my car, I regretted not taking a selfie with my mom while the bees were passing overhead! It would have been a classic KODAK moment. Anyways, I hope you like my outfit! I decided to keep it simple and added a few brown accessories to make my look appear bohemian.

I find myself drawn to gypsy-bohemian patterns and looks when I'm shopping for home goods or clothes. Maybe it's because the most hyped about music festival, Coachella, is a few days away or that summer weather is now in full throttle in Southern California. Though this ensemble has a boho feel, I would not wear this to an outdoor festival with scorching temperatures. It's all about flowy dresses that make you feel liberated, flowers and fringes but I'll save that for another post. As for this outfit, I decided to finally wear this top (I bought this about 5 years ago and this is the first time I'm wearing it!). I love the warm hues of this paisley patterned top and how it just sits on me. To complete the look, I paired it with brown boots and a floppy hat.

Good vibes only! As Coachella creeps up on us, I found that it was only fitting to post a boho - free-spirit look. But let's not forget Stagecoach! Sure, these festivals showcase different genres of music but the overall vibe is pretty similar! For this particular outfit, I decided to mash up a look that would work for both - a little bohemian touch in my newly acquired faux-suede fringe vest juxtaposed with a western cowboy hat. To add some definition to my dress, I decided to whip out an old braided belt. The final product? An olive green and tan combination!
