In this post, I compiled some of my favorite looks during my stay at Olia Villa and Suites. I spent so much time in the plunge pool and jacuzzi though I somehow managed to see and do everything I wanted to in Santorini!

Oia, Santorini

On one of my last few days in Santorini, I hopped into a private car and went to Oia! For those who haven't read my previous posts, I stayed in Imerovigli. It's possible to hike to Oia but the terrain seemed a bit too uneven and I did not bring my walking shoes! We arrived before 10AM so most of the shops were closed and there were very few tour groups. Fortunately, when we got to the 3 Domes, there was only one tour group - the wait time was approximately 15-20 minutes to capture a picture at this location.

If you're wondering how long it takes to walk through Oia, you can get through it in a few hours tops. It really depends on whether you want to just walk through the main road or you're more adventurous and prefer going off the beaten path. Most of those Instagram worthy spots require a bit of walking and waiting! When I went, I was surprised no one took pictures in front of the iconic Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants locations! I was thinking that movie may have predated their time but the people in the tour group ranged from tweens to retirees!

Of note, this definitely isn't the ideal place for anyone who has difficulty walking due to the steep steps and uneven terrain.

I highly suggest going early if you want to snap pictures with famous landmarks without standing in a horribly long line. I've heard horror stories and I was able to avoid most of it! If you're unable to arrive in Oia early, there are still so many photo spots all around! Most people didn't even blink twice to the location above so I swooped in and took advantage of the opportunity!

Atlantis Books E.E. in Oia, Santorini_Adrienne Nguyen_Bookstore in Santorini_Books_Secondhand Bookstore

The one place I absolutely wanted to visit was Atlantis Books E.E. Unfortunately, it was closed while I was in Oia. There was no indication when it would reopen but it just seems like a magical place. I love bookstores so I was really looking forward to it. When I posted this on Instagram, it appears as if other tourists had the same experience, they were unable to go inside. Maybe it was closed for some time...

Blue Dome in Imerovigli - Church of the Resurrection of the Lord

If you read my previous post, you're aware that I stayed at Olia Villa & Suites in Imerovigli. Little did I know, prior to exploring my area, that I was quite literally just a few steps away from the Blue Dome of Imerovigli otherwise known as the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. My hotel and room overall did not have a lot of foot traffic passing through the narrow walkway in front. We occasionally saw a tour group pass through or people taking engagement pictures diagonally from our plunge pool. Most visitors who come to take pictures at this spot enter from a path above that has narrow stairs and isn't very pedestrian friendly, especially for those with difficulty walking. Since I could leap here from the entrance of my room, I went early in the morning and no one was there. It was cool at 8AM but still warm enough for me not to freeze for these pictures. Don't you think the bougainvillea tree made it that much more special?

Right after, I went home to change into another maxi dress to walk to Fira, the capital of Santorini! It's a relatively short walk and the views are mesmerizing! This was a random walkway to another hotel!

Not sure if you realized but I brought MANY swimsuits to Santorini! I have enjoyed writing blog posts again because it gives me the opportunity to look back at my pictures and relive those moments. It's much needed now since it has been raining cats and dogs in San Diego. On this particular day, I wore a one shoulder ruffle black and white one piece swimsuit along with a black and white striped floppy sun hat.

For our second hotel, we stayed at Olia Villas & Suites. Our room had three stories which included a ground floor plunge pool and a rooftop jacuzzi! Since we were facing west, we had a magnificent sunset and caldera view. Once the host welcomed us to the hotel and told us about the island, we changed into our swimsuits and went into the plunge pool. It was brisk and windy but both the plunge pool and jacuzzi were heated! Even though I had my sunhat on for a majority of my trip, I ended up with a sunglasses tan on my face. It was a bit odd but that went away much faster than my body tan!
