BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS. Happy belated Thanksgiving guys! The herd of people waiting to go into Best Buy/Fry's, the plethora of women in the shoe department... INSANITY. I hope everyone is enjoying their week thus far! Even though I'm on break, there is so much work I have to complete. Anyways, I don't know how many of you watch Hart of Dixie on the CW but I have fallen in love with Lemon Breeland's outfits! She was an enormous inspiration for the outfit featured in this post!
I immediately fell in love with this dress and I had to have it! However, I must say that it is IMPOSSIBLE to drive in. Unless you have someone else driving you around, I suggest you do something else to it... which is exactly what I did. The last picture demonstrates what the unaltered dress looks like. The sleeves are pretty long and I have this constant fear that if I sit down without scrunching the dress up, it will RIP. So to make driving and maneuvering around easier, I decided to use the two sleeves to form a bow that sits at the waist. Creative, huh? Until next time!
MODERN HIPPIE. What Southern Californian girl would I be if I didn't include a picture of the beach on my blog?! It would be nice to take pictures on the beach during the peak of summer but the it was just too sunny and there were just too many people. Of course, I chose to go to the beach when it was sprinkling! I love the scenic, serene atmosphere the beach exudes however, my skin cannot stand being in the sun for long periods of time. Anyways, I was driving along Pacific Coast Highway and decided to pull over to walk on the beach; sand is a natural exfoliant so all is well! I should have dropped my bag for the pictures... no idea why I held onto it! Well, Summer is coming to an end and hopefully I can squeeze in another beach post before Autumn arrives!

A quick post featuring this very versatile Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Crossbody - courtesy of Snapette. Winter is reaching its denouement and the sun seems to rise earlier each day... making it that much more difficult to find a place to take outfit shots. For those of you who are feeling the heat, I hope you are finding ways to keep cool! Anyone want to hit the beach? (:
SUBMERGED IN GOLD. The rain has finally departed Southern California! Though I love listening to rain droplets hit my window pane, it is quite a pain to drive when visibility is low. I can recall a moment when I was driving home from school and nearly died, seriously. I was turning right for the ramp which was situated above the freeway without any metal or wood railing on the sides to prevent cars from literally flying off when I began to hydroplane (whew.. so much for a run-on sentence!). Of course we all assume that we can remain calm in a situation as such however I totally freaked! My instantaneous reaction was to grab the steering wheel and violently rotate it toward the opposite side (HORRIBLE IDEA!). So I started veering toward concrete panels... I am pretty sure my pupils were dilated and my blood pressure spiked... Moral of the story: Drive with caution - especially in the rain.
On a happier note, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by what else than outfit shots! I received this alluring necklace from iristy and I was astounded by its quality. The packaging that it came in was adorable - if you guys are following me on twitter then you saw the preview of it! The delicate details on this necklace are incredible and it is very durable. This necklace includes earrings however I have virgin ears! I have debated on whether or not to get earrings many times however it just does not suit me. No, I am not afraid of needles (trust me I am not and no, I am not a druggie). Even though I do not accessorize my ears, I do incorporate jewelry into practically all of my outfits. To purchase this exact necklace, visit IRISTY.COM. As for my skirt, my mom made it to go with this particular outfit! I believe it matches well, don't you? It was last minute but all went well!
When I laid this outfit out, I wanted to add a pop of hot pink but things always look radically different when I put it on. Does that ever happen to you guys? You think it looks good on the hanger and then you put it on, look at the mirror and your immediate reaction is WHAT THE ****!? Haha. Following that reaction, I decided to pair this outfit with some pale pinks. Of course, I could not resist adding some bold color into my outfit thus why I have carrot sunnies on!
