When I visit various other blogs, I develop a sense of distaste if it is not regularly updated, the composition is poor or the website itself is not appealing. In no way am I stating that my blog is top tier with excellent photography or page design but I was getting quite bored with my "usual" outfit shoot locations. After passing by my typical spot, I found a brown wall that was pretty bland but different. After turning into the parking lot I noticed some abandoned, or so it seemed, step ladders scattered all over. I immediately ran over and my mom started taking some shots. I eventually found one that wasn't taped up so I naturally climbed the steps. It started wobbling like crazy and I then realized that these were damaged ladders that were thrown out as a safety precaution. Well, those "danger" signs didn't alarm me. They were perfect props for this outfit which gave it some edge. Anyways, I am not a fan of body-conscious dresses but this casual collar dress, courtesy of Blue Vanilla, functions well for school or casual days out. To spice up this dress, I added a motorcycle jacket from Twenty Two Changes from Nordstrom and leather Michael Kors Booties. This exact outfit is something I would wear to go out for lunch or to class. Until next time!
Hello everyone! I just finished orientation at UCSD and yesterday was my first official day of school! Looking at my course schedule is a bit overwhelming but I am beyond ecstatic to be a full time student again! There are multiple potential outfit post locations around campus so you might see some UCSD backgrounds in the future!
Onwards to fashion: Banana Republic generously provided me with some of their new arrivals! This particular post shows 3 different outfits - each with something from Banana Republic. To start off, I immediately fell in love with this blush colored merino wool featherweight sweater. Besides the hue, I adore the feel of wool against my skin! It's the perfect transitional piece from summer to fall and it works wonders with both skirts and pants. Though this crew neck sweater isn't offered in petite sizes, I opted for an X-Small and it fits extremely well. I was a bit afraid this sweater might be too loose on me but it fits just fine! I paired this top with a full circle midi skirt to bring back some Southern Belle roots to my blog.

THE UNEXPLAINABLE CHARM of New York City has an enormous hold over me. Immersing myself into the culture, people and stores gave me better insight toward the fast paced life in the city. For those who have been reading my blog, I went to New York in collaboration with Bloomingdales x Free People and it was an unforgettable experience. I do not have all the pictures yet but I will post them and tell you guys all about the shoot when they are in my possession! Anyways, I spent the rest of the afternoon and the next morning exploring the Big Apple and in my opinion, New York definitely lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, the humidity made the heat unbearable - nothing I have ever experienced in California!
For my 2 nights and 2 days in New York, I stayed at The James in SoHo. It is one of the newer hotels and it's pretty neat though I must say the atmosphere of the concierge area is a bit depressing. However, the view from the Jimmy on the rooftop was spectacular (first picture). For my expedition, I visited Washington Square Park and then I ventured to the Flatiron Building. I walked pass Flatiron and did not realize I was already at my destination until I turned around! It's unique design held my attention so I did the typical touristy thing and I took a bunch of pictures. When I got back to the hotel, I did some quick research and found that Robert Hooper's Nighthawks replica can be seen at the prow of Flatiron. So the next morning, I went back to Flatiron and was able to capture a picture of it! I then made my way to Times Square and a large amount of tourists were walking around with maps in their hands. I believe it would be better to explore the city when it is cooler... it was way to hot to enjoy the city in its entirety. Most of the buildings in New York have some sort of construction occurring above so random water drops might hit you...ew!!! Also, a plethora of people smoke and some of the streets reek from mysterious odors! Since I was already in the area, I decided to visit my final landmark, New York Public Library. I bet the Marchesa fashion show, which was situated in the library, was breathtaking. It is the prettiest library I have ever seen - made me feel like I was in Hogwarts! Hope you guys enjoy my pictures!
MODERN HIPPIE. What Southern Californian girl would I be if I didn't include a picture of the beach on my blog?! It would be nice to take pictures on the beach during the peak of summer but the it was just too sunny and there were just too many people. Of course, I chose to go to the beach when it was sprinkling! I love the scenic, serene atmosphere the beach exudes however, my skin cannot stand being in the sun for long periods of time. Anyways, I was driving along Pacific Coast Highway and decided to pull over to walk on the beach; sand is a natural exfoliant so all is well! I should have dropped my bag for the pictures... no idea why I held onto it! Well, Summer is coming to an end and hopefully I can squeeze in another beach post before Autumn arrives!

BOHEMIAN. I have grown quite lazy ever since I finished Summer Session so my attire is mostly comprised of random tops, flare jeans, and shift dresses. I went out to the market to get some groceries and I decided to snap some pictures since my blog has been lacking real outfit posts!

Greetings, everyone! My sincere apologies for being M.I.A. - I just moved into my new home! I made so many fond memories at my old place... so of course tears were shed however, I am excited to embark on a new adventure in San Diego! I spent the last few weeks packing up my life and tossing away unwanted clothes, home goods, etc. I really could not believe the amount of clutter I acquired over the years but then again, I did live in one home my entire life. Anyways, I hired the most amazing movers that were able to pack up and take care of all my belongings - including my piano! After they left, my old house felt so much bigger but the feeling of abandonment became real.
As the afternoon came at my new place, I found myself in the midst of a plethora of boxes. I didn't feel like I could call this my new home. It was missing that solid, strong connection I created at my old place - something hard to come by... something irreplaceable. I know it might sound odd but I grew very fond of my past home. I was so attached that I decided to go back to my old house for one last night even though I already cut the electricity - fortunately, the water remained on for 48 hours! I slept in a sleeping bag on the floor by candlelight - totally romantic, right? It was hard to say goodbye but it'll always have a place in my heart. I have so many pictures and I took something away from it - both literally and figuratively.
I don't know when I'll be comfortable calling my new place, my home but it's an issue that I believe will be resolved within time. Until then, I'll keep myself busy by unpacking and eating way too much take-out for my own good. I can say I am beyond thrilled to be a full time student again - more on this soon! On another note, I finally pulled out these adorable white culottes and paired them with my striped sailor crop top with a bow in the back. This is the perfect outfit for a summer day out at any beach or coastal place.

I cannot believe that it's the first day of September! To celebrate the the end of a hot and humid summer, I wanted to wear something bold and bright. I had a bit of trouble coming up with something that would match this skirt so I decided to work some magic with my zodiac scarf. As in my other d.i.y. scarf top post (Check it out HERE), I wrapped it around my body and finished it off with a bow in front. I also added two shoulder straps to ensure nothing was accidentally exposed! I actually paired this outfit with the Zac Sac from Zac Posen but I forgot it at home - yes, I forgot my bag at home! My hands felt so empty during this outfit shoot but I worked with what I had. Anyways, I cannot stop wearing this crystal necklace courtesy of 9th and Elm (whoops, double negative). This website is unique unique since it features handmade and independent designs from numerous designers. Until next time!
