Museum of Ice Cream

The first thing I did after finals was take a long nap but the day after? I went to the Museum of Ice Cream with Jonathan!!! Insert all the smiley face emojis! Jonathan was able to get tickets the day right after my finals - which happened to be the day after his birthday and a few days after our 10 year anniversary! We ventured from San Diego to Los Angeles to make our 6:30PM slot and we were surprised at how many people were also there. We entered as a group of 10 but we lost our group within the first five minutes since we stayed back to take pictures! I'm so glad I was able to visit this museum and it really did live up to the hype! Unfortunately, we were unable to take close up pictures with the ice cream figurines or even touch them since they were damaged by earlier museum patrons. I hope you guys enjoy this post! All pictures were from my iPhone 6! To see more images, follow me on Instagram, Twitter and VSCO.
For all of those going to the LA edition of the Museum of Ice Cream, you'll experience this pancake Ice cream sandwich at the end! The vanilla ice cream was good however, the pancake was a bit much! Maybe an ice cream "taco" would have been more appropriate... but that's just one girl's opinion.
The sprinkle pool was so fun but it went by way too fast! We were only allowed two minutes in the pool since there was a long line of people waiting to jump in! Anyways, I jumped into the pool and actually fell over - it was much deeper than I expected! There were around 10-15 people in the pool so Jonathan and I worked with what we had. After time was called, we slowly made our way out to snag a couple more pictures!
The cute DOVE chocolate cart in front that was very low in chocolate by the time we got there! Those who got chocolate pieces with gold stars got prizes!
I actually have no idea what was being said on the other end. Jonathan actually listened to it and he claims that it was funny but it was really loud in the room. It did make me reminisce on a time when telephones were still relevant in our personal lives.
The notorious banana room! It was pretty difficult to take pictures without anyone in the background - especially with kids running back and forth. I didn't realize it but Jonathan pointed out that the bananas were supposed to be hanging as single pieces. Most of them were spun and twisted together into banana bunches so full on shots looked a bit odd. Nevertheless, we enjoyed swimming through the banana room!
The mint mochi was probably one of my favorite snacks in the museum! It had that peppermint kick and the room was refreshing though it did have a Breaking Bad vibe to it. The plants within the room are real but there was no water within the watering pails.
This came right after the mint room and it had a large mirror wall where Jonathan and I took numerous photos - follow my Instagram stories to see our weirdness! They also had a pathetic claw machine. Jonathan tried so hard but the claw just wouldn't grip onto anything.
The infamous melting ice cream bars! We only had access to a few of them while the rest were "safe" behind a chain. The pretty bright colors were off limits but at least there was a melting green bar I had access to - my dress worked well with the museum!
Please disregard my fist as I was holding a bunch of gummy bears! I wanted to take a picture with the green gummy bear but it was resting in the corner all sad and alone while all the other ones were on psychedelic cubes! I'll post that picture elsewhere. Anyways, the employee in this room was dancing to the beat of Queen B's Formation! Made me wanna rock out with her!
This was the weirdest tasting ice cream ever. It was chocolate chip cookie dough (I think?) with activated charcoal. I remember the activated charcoal part since I learned about it in Pharmacy Practice! FYI, charcoal does not do a good job of absorbing ingested toxins since you need a 10:1 chemical to toxin ratio, respectively. Anyways, I associate ice cream with being cold and making my body shiver. Contrary to that, this particular dessert crushed all my beliefs - it was warm and the charcoal made it gritty. Not my cup of tea.
I hope you guys liked my pictures! More travel posts will be up in the future!
XO,
Adrienne
