November started off with heavy downpour but it was definitely nice waking up to the sound of rain! Do you guys like the rain? Cars driving on wet asphalt, rain hitting the windowpane, taking out the umbrella and layering! What's not to love? One place I really want to visit in the future is Paris, of course. Being able to see all the landmarks, trying new cuisine, practicing my French? Oui, s'il vous plaît! I did not take French for four years to let it go to waste! But what does my desire to visit Paris have to do with rain? All the books, music, and pictures I have seen make Paris appear so romantic in the rain. If I am ever lucky enough to venture off to France, not only would I visit Paris but I would also make sure to spend time in Provence, Versailles, Avignon, Strasbourg, and Bordeaux. A girl can dream, right? Anyways, this was my first outfit for November. I decided to wear this adorable black cat wool sweater I scored at Off 5th's! I decided to take advantage of the cold by layering with my silk black top and black wool cape. My mom purchased these knee high leather boots from Nine West over 10 years ago and they've been collecting dust over the years. I do not have any knee length boots so I wanted to see if I could squeeze into these bad boys. Success! I think it complements my outfit very well. What do you think? Until next time!
My alma mater, the University of California, Irvine. These pictures were taken some time ago in front of the parking lot near PSLH. I had discussion in this ivy lined building but I can't recall the name! With the toasty weather in California, we don't exactly experience the full 4 seasons. Yet this is one of the few places that shows drastic seasonal changes in Orange County. Here's to hoping this ivy building stays intact. Anyways, since ASHP Midyear is almost upon us, I'll be in maximum overdrive mode very soon. Keep up with me through instagram @adriennenguyenn.
My pharmaceutical rotations have come to an end 😠For those of you who are reading my blog for the first time, my first 2 APPE rotations of P4 year were at Allergan and Pfizer. I intentionally planned these industry blocks as early as possible so I could obtain letter of recommendations for fellowship applications next month. My upcoming rotation, Block 3, will be at Walgreens. I know you must be thinking... why didn't you put this as your last rotation? Well, I chose to have retail during my 3rd block so I could work on applications. I definitely did not want to be juggling projects/early hours with medicine rotations on top of writing my letter of intents and narrowing the programs I'd be applying to. There's a reason to everything I do!
As I was ranking rotations as a P3, I did not have any guidance to the process but I was able to determine which rotations I needed earlier on to make myself a stronger candidate. For my past two rotations, I had support from numerous fellows and preceptors in various companies. I was overjoyed with how willing they were to give advice! For current pharmacy students, I'm here to help! To those of you who have reached out to me so far, thank you for all your sweet emails! I'm so happy to be able to pay it forward. I will be posting extensive blog posts about P4 year and individual rotations in 2020. To get a glimpse of what I'm doing every day, follow me on IG: @adriennenguyenn.
Anyways, here's one of the summer outfits I wore in Corona del Mar combining bohemian/California girl vibes. I honestly keep finding new items in my closet with tags still attached! I'm in need of a shopping intervention since I buy so many things and wear them only once, if I'm lucky. I'll also be doing a big update to my Poshmark closet in 2020.
