Taking full advantage of the cloudy overcast in California even though I still have a nasty cough! Although it may be cloudy, it is still quite hot...Anyways, I received this hot pink midi skirt courtesy of Vault Lifestyle. When I first tried on this skirt, I wanted to make my outfit "stand out" from the norm. The typical black or white top was out of the question for me so it was now a task of how I could make this unique. After some contemplation, I decided to play around with my scarves - I have a ton of scarves that are just occupying space in my drawers. To my luck, this was the first scarf I pulled out. I created a makeshift head scarf however, my mom suggested that I turn this silk floral scarf into a top. So with a simple twist, voila! This skirt is great for casual outings and is extremely stretchy! To purchase or learn more about the company, visit Vault Lifestyle HERE.
Hey guys! I have a ton of outfit pictures I've taken in 2016 but have yet to post such as this one when I went on a semi-road trip to Pioneertown, Palm Springs and Big Bear. I hope to finish posting all my old outfits before the start of next quarter so I can show you guys my present style or rather my style at school.
I wore this DIY Breton Stripe dress for ease of movement and comfort however, I did not realize that it was this short when I wore it! I did wear shorts underneath so it was all good! On the day Jonathan and I took this trip, it was relatively cool so I layered this dress with a thin olive utility coat along with a black paisley print scarf wrapped around my neck a million times. One trend I love is tying small silk neck scarves around bag handles. I believe it evokes a sense of eloquence and power. This scarf was a bit too long and thick to function as a "bag scarf" but it was great for pictures whenever there was wind.
This outfit was taken at Pioneertown, California. I never knew this place existed until Jonathan told me about it. It's the cutest western area where the wi-fi connection sucks and the population in this particular area is at a mere 350 residents. I'd love to have a summer outfit shot here though I think my skin would melt off. If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know that I took my last final yesterday and I'm officially on SPRING BREAK! Grades are slowly coming out and so far, the results have been pleasing! This quarter was much more intense than the previous with an OSCE, 4 finals and two presentations. I thought I left procrastination behind me but everything piled on fast - I definitely need to manage my time better. For my pharmacy readers, I'll further expand on what OSCE's are since I believe it will help those interviewing at schools with an MMI format.
TRANSITIONING TO AUTUMN WEATHER which means the holiday season is looming amongst us. Pumpkins of all shapes and colors, potpourri pine-cones emitting a spicy cinnamon aroma, foiled chocolate bars and scarecrows producing their best grin can be found in every market. The thrill of finding or creating the perfect costume to impersonate someone, or thing, you love or aspire to be is enticing. Going door to door and receiving chocolate or candy fills every void in the hearts of children. Oh, how I miss being a kid. But how times have changed...it just doesn't feel the same as it did 10 years ago. The magic and allure of the wicked holiday has completely vanished and has been replaced with greedy teenagers in skanky costumes (though not all, of course). Do you guys still dress up or have any continuing Halloween traditions?
As for this outfit, I wanted to wear this dress before the crisp, fall weather came in full swing. Even though this dress is pretty in itself, I wanted to add accessories. I paired this dress with a golden necklace to enhance the collar and draw attention to the white piping on the dress. I also added an emerald necklace to give my outfit a little something extra. Additionally, I decided to wear my heart shaped clutch again and I believe it matches well with this outfit! Hope you like it!
SOMBER OCTOBER BREEZE dissipating over Orange County. Even though Autumn recently began, this cold air is moving over Southern California rapidly. Afternoons are still terribly humid however, coats are definitely a must for evening outings or classes. Autumn brings about my favorite weather which is perfect for dressing up! I love gloomy, rainy days and it feels more magical with the holiday season around the corner!
