Outfit : Day Time Attire
Channeling the Blair Waldorf look. I took another spin on this black dress and made it perfect for the city. For this look, I chose to keep the black dress plain however the addition of the scarf gives the look a high fashion look. Blending black and white together always produces a graceful and stylish look. The black and white hat with the flower gives the entire look more definition. Without some accessory on the head, the outfit would look quite ordinary. The rings I am wearing are not quite visible but I have a black and white square ring on my left hand and a ring with a rose on my right. Accessories always give an outfit more value and zest. The oxfords I chose to wear add a sense of comfort toward the outfit. Even though I could have worn high heels, I chose to keep this look more reasonable for my age thus I wore black and grey oxfords. The final piece in my outfit is the bag. The gold on this zebra bag produces a fierce look. Ordinarily, polka dots and zebra stripes don’t click. But who says fashion is about looking ordinary?

Outfit : Evening
A simple LBD can be transformed into something sophisticated and classic. With the utilization of lace, which can be bought from any local fabric store such as Jo-Ann’s, the once plain black dress is altered into an expensive, evening garment. Furthermore, to enhance the look, I added a pearl and bow toward the neck of the dress. The pearl I used was actually my mom’s old earring and the bow was made from ribbon. Although the back of my dress cannot be seen in this picture, the lace around my waist is long enough to form a bow. This adds a “little something extra” to the back of the dress. For my shoes, I chose to wear black heels with a flower appliqué. Adding this creates a more subtle look. As for accessories, I chose to wear a bold statement ring, pearl bracelets, a black clutch, and a headband. The single, clear statement rings allows your hand to feel delicate and it does not draw the attention away from your outfit. The two pearl bracelets create an “Audrey Hepburn” allure and the clutch was a complete bargain! I bought it at some random store and I was torn but I used superglue to place all the pieces back together and I added flower adornments which can be bought at any craft store to make it look classier. With an evening look, the hair can never be bland. I used Tresemme: Tres 2 to make my hair voluminous and the headband to complete my look.

I am officially done with my first year of college! I took my finals for Anthropology and Math today...I must say that they were pretty decent. I haven't had the time to update my blog since I have been studying for my classes. I should spend more time studying for my general education classes though. I usually do the required reading and set it aside until the day of the test... last night I only received two hours of sleep... I spent the majority of my day yesterday studying for math and from 1am until whenever I fell asleep was dedicated to Anthropology.
Five weeks of summer until school starts (: Time to relax! I was planning to tutor over the summer at school but the prerequisite class I need isn't offered in the summer so I will have to start during the school year. I want to tutor in Chemistry and Math! We'll see what happens... I also have to start research. I am planning on researching on gastroenterology .
Here are the pictures for the CHICtopia Remix:
In this look, I took off the lace to make this dress suitable for the daytime. I chose to pair this dress with a belt because it felt too plain without it. The belt makes a statement by itself and it enhances your own curves. I work a black necklace to keep the dress as the main focal point of attention. Although I could have worn a bold and bright necklace, I did not want to allow peoples’ eyes to wander away from the outfit and toward the necklace only. I kept my pearl bracelet on too maintain the classy look and I am also wearing a watch with this outfit to give it the “work” feeling. As for my shoes, I wanted to keep it plain and effortless by wearing pointed high heels; it’s comfortable and chic at the same time. To complete my look I am holding a black purse with a scarf tied around it. The scarf turns the boring black bag into something that seems high-fashion. This outfit has no “eye-popping colors because I wanted to retain the classy and elegant look the little black dress possesses.
